My wife and I went to Joey’s this evening for ice cream. The service and atmosphere were terrible. One employee was working and she was not friendly at all. She did not greet us or attempt to make any suggestions on what to get. We asked if we could sample the ice cream and she said we could not. It was astonishing that that is their policy considering one single scoop of ice cream is $6.00. Another thing that is very off putting is that the customer cannot see the ice cream. There are no display cases. I want to see and taste my ice cream before committing to buying it especially if it’s a store I’ve never been to. There was also a singing group there and the music was so loud. Louder than a bar, I couldn’t believe it. The atmosphere did not feel like an ice cream shop at all. We ended up leaving and not buying anything. I have no idea if the ice cream is any good because the service and atmosphere were not inviting. We ended up going to Braum’s and my wife got a junior cone and I got a Sundae for less than $4.00. Don’t waste your time and money at Joey’s. Braum’s is right down the street, they greet you when you enter, say “have a nice day” when you leave, and most importantly let you see and taste the ice cream at a...
Read moreI gave it three due to customer service and policy. We had never been before and asked if we could taste a flavor (as we were each going to get a pint to take home) and we were told no, the owner doesn’t allow it. The person I was with asked “what happens if we hate it?” and the employee shrugged her shoulders and I kind of laughed and said “I guess it just means we don’t come back here again” and the employee said “sounds great!”. So overall very rude place of business. I mean good lord, if people are abusing the tasting then limit it to a couple per customer! Or first taste free at least and then charge a tiny bit for the following taste. SOME sort of happy medium would be nice. Punishing the majority for the few that abuse the privilege seems wrong. And the girl working definitely needs some training in customer service or maybe a job not speaking to people. As for the actual ice cream itself… it was really good! If I’d been able to taste it first we probably would have bought more. I hate that I’m now hesitant to support this place...
Read moreI had a key lime pie and coconut ice cream, key lime pie and rocky road ice cream, cookie cream and Reese's peanut butter cup ice cream, and it was amazing the flavors were delicious and accurate after the peanut butter cup I still tasted the Reese's in it it was delicious like they blended Reese's. The key lime pie tasted like a key lime pie from bakers square and was to die for. The Rocky road that had almonds in it but the chocolate was a good dark chocolate flavor. The coconut tasted like they took a fresh coconut from Florida and put it in ice cream. Then they had their special the Frankenstein which was, dark chocolate with chocolate syrup chocolate ice cream and a gourmet chocolate all in an ice cream it was to die for so rich and creamy delicious tastes like it would give you a sugar high. I love the atmosphere it's very family-friendly and church atmosphere. I love their music is very Christian music. Every Thursday they have a band that comes in and plays it's really good to listen to if...
