1820 Coffee House — Restaurant in Alvin

This small coffee shop nestled in the heart of Alvin is an amazing escape from the crazy of life. The staff and service are fantastic and the coffee and food are fresh and delicious. The owners are actively involved and you will often see them chatting with customers.

The thing that really keeps me coming back is the absolute friendliness of the staff. Each month this coffee shop hosts a community game night that is sure to be filled with lots of banter and laughter. This past month was BINGO night and it was so much fun.

During a time of polarized views on COVID, they opt to allow their customers to choose whether or not they wear masks. While the staff does not wear masks, they do maintain the highest level of cleanliness and make sure to provide a safe environment for those of whom they serve. I appreciate the fact that even though I choose to mask, no disparaging comments were made; and none are made to those that opt to not wear masks. It’s a breath of fresh air to find somewhere that welcomes you with a smile no matter your beliefs. Well done.

What a quaint, functionally unique and potentially lively coffee house. I really have a lot of hope for this place as it could be a hip hangout and meetup place in sleepy Alvin. Formerly Rocket Coffee, 1820 has its own brand and produces its own coffee and tea products aside from serving up freshly concocted iterations of the two from their ample kitchen to in store customers. The lounge style cafe features common and seperate areas for seating and lounging, offers internet cafe type ammenities and even a more business like meeting table with flatscreen. Board games, trivia and info books adorn stands and tables around the shop and you just get the feel of afternoon chess games and late night philosophical discussion happening here. The two Baristas I have met here are delightful, playing off of each others strong suits to team up for delightful conversation and they had me laughing and smiling all the way out the door. A small ma and pa coffee shop founded here in Alvin, TX.... This place is a small and quiet little coffee shop... When you walk in, of course you are met with the strong aroma of coffee, it has plenty of seating and also has areas for a big crowd... They have a menu of fan favorites and also the basic coffee menu, my wife ordered some sorta upside down caramel white chocolate mocha hot coffee and my sister in law ordered a caramel vanilla Frappuccino... They were both happy with their purchase, me on the other hand don't care much for coffee (I'd rather have a redbull).... The prices are somewhat competitive with Starbucks and other top coffee chains, but hell, why not just support the hometown little man??? The big corporations don't need anymore money to fill their greed, but overall it was a relaxful experience here, so I definitely plan on bringing my wife back here to maybe read and drink some coffee (and a redbull or 2🤣🤣🤣) Oh yeah, I forgot... The staff was friendly and attentive, they answered all of our questions about the menu... So, we will be back... Great job 1820, keep up...
