Burnt Ends Tex-Mex BBQ

This restaurant is great when the kitchen is on its game. It was our goto Tex-Mex for take-out and we’ve been bi-weekly patrons for over six months. But the last three to four meals we have gotten as take-out were kind of bad. Either something was overcooked, had little flavor, or it was just sloppy kitchen work. Like the chicken isn’t really shredded for the ck tacos/enchiladas, or you get one quesadilla with one piece of meat and all cheese.

My Don Juan plate came with fajita beef that smelled like it was boiled and then microwaved. It clearly was grilled at some point… but it was a sketchy prospect on when exactly that was. My tamale must have made a stop at the Joe’s BBQ that’s just down the road because it had burnt ends. No joke, my tamale had crusty, burnt ends, so yeah, that sucker was clearly nuked in a microwave. Plus, both of our queso’s were turning brown, like queso gets when it’s heated for too long. That’s something that should have been clear to anyone in the kitchen or good mgmt. that checks on the kitchen.

So, after months of great customer service from the young lady and man that work the take-out window, I called to say that I had a problem with the meal. The nice gentleman that often checks me out says, “yeah, I noticed it was kind of brown when it came out.” And then he kindly told me, after I complained about the other issues with the food, that he’d give us a free queso next time we came in. Gee whiz! Thanks Wally.

Like… I get it, times are tough and you really don’t have bar sales to help offset any other costs. But, there are other options in Alvin that offer the same quality food for the same price you charge. There just isn’t a good excuse for this quality of food, really at any price. My one complaint and cheesy review, I suspect, will not change the tides of your business. But, you lost a couple of good and faithful customers for a while. You really should have stood by your product, and we hope things get back on track because we did enjoy your...

My favorite place to eat in alvin .. well not anymore today on 71918 I went in and ordered nachos I found a worm inside of my nachos not even chopped up it was a full worm I was disgusted I was not even offered an apology I was only told that I did not have to pay for my meal well obviously LOL considering I did not order a worm or shot of tequila. But seriously this is no laughing matter I was denied being able to speak to the manager for about 45 minutes until I threatened to call the Better Business Bureau the manager was magically then available to speak to me he still offered no apology and gave me a measly $20 gift card which of course I will never use because I'm scared to have worms in my food again I hope everybody takes heat to this morning there are no napkins on the table ever at this restaurant and they're worms in the nachos I did not even have tomatoes or lettuce on my nachos which made the worm even grosser cuz I have no idea where it could have came from on my being cheese and meat nachos long story short this used to be my favorite place but I have to say I wish I could give it to eurostar's unless you want to eat worms do not eat at Habaneros Fresh Mex...

I’ve eaten many times and the food was mid at best but today I had an 65$ To go order and was very confused why my two kids meals per the menu didn’t included drinks and when picking up my order they said the menu price on kids only includes the drinks if you dine in. This didn’t make sense to me and I asked for a discount on my order or for them to give me what I paid for per their menu. The guy at the register was very confused and scared and walked off so a guy in the back argued with me and said that they’ve been in business for many years and that they don’t include drinks with kids meal on to go orders. Everyone there was very rude and unhelpful and didn’t act as if they cared about charging me for something I didn’t get. Tex mex food is cheap to make and I don’t like being taken advantage of at the register smh I’ll never eat at the establishment again, it 2024 and they’ve changed their menu prices multiple times over the past few years and the service is...

Went here for a late lunch @ 3;05 pm. on a Monday (3/13/23). It wasn't crowded, but only one waitress serving about 6 tables. She seemed rushed but was very polite and fast. Food looked and tasted good. I had chicken flautas with rice and beans. Chips with green& red sauce were brought out first. I ordered a small guacamole. It was very cold in the restaurant to me, so I ate a little them got it to go. Had it not been so cold, I would have stayed l longer. I enjoyed my leftovers later, though. My bill was $18.26. Would have been a little less without the guacamole. I recommend Habaneros. They have a drive thru also.

I hate leaving the review because the staff is so nice and everything came out in good time and everyone was attentive. The food lacked in flavor. I had the Pollo Poblano and it had very minimum flavor plus the chicken was very very thin. The Refried beans were good and the flour tortillas were really good. Hubby had fajita chicken enchiladas and he said it was mediocre and didn't have a lot of chicken. The margaritas were awful. We choked them down knowing we had to pay for them. The sweet tea was really good though. Overall great staff and atmosphere, mediocre food and awful margaritas.

Always wonderful! We drive from Angleton, just to eat here, and before discovering this place, we had to go to San Antonio to get Mexican food this great! It starts with fresh, light chips, a great spicy salsa, and a guacamole salsa that's so wonderful wife scarfs it all up, she also loves their taco salads (with barracho beans, guacamole, and sour cream), and their Salinas Dinner is a meal I make a point of coming back for, with fresh rice and beans like no other restaurants in Brazoria County have, this is now our favorite Mexican restaurant!
