Chick-fil-A — Restaurant in Amarillo

I have been going to this chick fil an off and on since it opened. More often than not the McDonald’s drive-thru next door moves faster. This chick fil a is the slowest in town. Expect to wait 20-30 minutes in line if there’s more than 5 cars. The food is lukewarm at best, I plan on taking it home and using my microwave every time. They also never follow the “special instructions” box when you mobile order. There isn’t an option to get extra of the jalapeño salsa with the breakfast burritos when ordering on the app. I put in the special instructions “extra jalapeño salsa please” and never receive it. I ask at the speaker box and at the window as well and I’m assured it’s in the bag… it never is. There has been a few times I receive none at all after asking 3 times. Most times I’m given sweet tea when I ask for unsweetened tea. They just don’t have their store together.

Aside from poor customer service, when covid was at its peak, I was desperate for a job and applied to be a manager here. I got the job and the day I was supposed to start, an hour before I was supposed to go in I get a call from the hospital saying my grandma is dying and to come say my goodbyes and she won’t last till lunch. I called the store manager to tell her I won’t make it to my first shift because of this and her response was “I guess I can give you 15 minutes, but don’t be any later than 15 minutes.” She was incredibly rude about the entire situation and never acknowledged the fact my grandma was dying. I told her I’m not working for a manager who won’t let employees say goodbye to their dying family member, and that I quit. I proceeded to get phone calls 4-5 times a day for 2 weeks saying I’m late for my shifts and this is unprofessional. Every time I would tell them I had quit. Lucky for me, I still have my nana months later and she is doing much better now.

This chick fil a is by far the worst I have had for many reasons. The management is unprofessional and rude, will not offer a remake or refund if your order is made wrong and will gaslight you I to thinking you actually ordered the wrong thing so you pay for another meal. We had lunch here the other day, and I’ve never eaten at this location of Chick-fil-A? We got there about noon, and it was somewhat busy. But this location, compared to the store in 45th and Coulter, is much, much better, in my opinion. The restaurant was very clean in the dining area, which is an important feature in my personal standard for eating at any restaurant or fast food establishment. The lady taking orders at the register was very thorough and so very helpful! She was a shining star to the customers! She reviewed our order to make sure it was correct. She then took our payment and we sat down. Our order came out very fast, and we checked our order and it was correct, even down to the very sauces that we ordered! I was blown away, bc this is not the standard practice that we’ve seen at the store on Coulter? Our food was fresh, and very hot, and tasted wonderful! I wished we lived closer to this particular store as I would definitely make this my favorite store! We finished our meal bc we had to get back to work! I was watching the ppl at the register who were continuing to take orders, and every person that I seen was just as helpful as the lady who took our order! The worst place I spent my money. They have an american flag out front and it was hanging bgg on by one eye lit. And the wind blowing 35 m.p.h.. And I asked the guy that took my order did the manager know. This is the second time I know of in Amarillo that chic fil a has disrespected the united states flag. And this is a place that is just a few blocks away where veterans of Korea,Vietnam,Afghanistan,Desert storm. Must I go on. And none of our veterans are gold star families have tosee the disrespect tovour nations color and the young boy that took my order when I asked him did management know. I have a veteran sticker on my car wearing my dog tags and a u.s. army hat. And for that boy to stand there and laugh is a sign of no morals and no respect to our colors.
