Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Amarillo

Unfortunately I had to give this one a one star from today 10/15/2023 and that’s bc google won’t allow me to put zero. I showed up here around 3:55 P.M hoping I made it just in time before happy hour ended. I pressed the button at the stall at approximately 3:57 P.M (actually recorded that) and waited for about 15 minutes looked over at the drive thru line and thought “well maybe it would be quicker to go through the drive thru since they’ve already done around 5 cars.” They didn’t look to busy when I had gotten there but who knows… I went to the drive thru and again I’m sitting there for another 15 minutes. I’m frustrated at this point but I had thought well maybe they’re low staffed today? I look to the corner there’s about 3 employees playing in the back right where the gates to throw out the trash was, this one girl kept taking the smallest boxes to the trash back and forth one by one (I guess trying not to do the drive thru or car hop) until she finally goes in and brings out one tray, which this red truck was probably sitting there when I had pulled in (30 min ago) so they were probably there longer. She went back inside and decided to take my order, after this whole wait 30 min total 15 min at the car hop and another 15 min at drive thru and as I was trying to tell her what I was ordering, she kept mocking me and saying and I quote “huh?” “Huh” “is that it” (I wasn’t done with ordering mind you, so I waited and spoke through the mic and said I’m not done ordering yet? No answer so I pulled forward. When I did so, I was met with the female employee laughing at me as you can see them through the window. I have no idea what was going on today but this sonic seems to get slower and slower. With no customer service...

I went during the storm. They refused to take my order so I didn't have to roll my window down in the pouring rain in the drive thru so my driver's side door got soaked waiting for them to get my order then it made me sicker than a dog. Told me that they wasn't going to send the carhops out in the storm! I sure am glad the first responders don't react to the weather like they do. What would they do if they got into an accident and the first responders said we aren't coming out in this weather your going to have to wait till it slows down or maybe even stops. I will not be coming back. This is the second time I have gone to this Sonic. Along with the second time they messed my order. I asked for the number 9 and got a cheese burger. I understand being busy but it’s really unreasonable when the order it’s right there on the ticket. I’m not even going to bother asking for anything because I already know the hassle to get my money back and I’m not going back over there to get my order right when it should have been right the first time.
