Freddie's fish and grill family of the Fatcat — Restaurant in Amarillo

I really wanted to like this place and I wish I would've taken pictures. We decided to try out this place because of the good reviews it but unfortunately the only thing we liked was the fried catfish. First of all the waitress knew nothing of the menu and couldn't answer any of our questions BUT to her defense, she was filling in for someone last minute. Then we ordered fried alligator as an appetizer. I couldn't believe what we were brought! I wish I had taken a picture of the 5 tiny, chewy pieces of alligator we were brought for $13.50??! When our dinner finally came out, we ordered the Combo plates, I really liked the big portions of catfish we got and the shrimp was good also. I wouldn't say the shrimp was fresh though. As for everything else I tried them and didn't like any. I didn't care for the beans they were plain, nor the cole slaw and definitely not the tartar sauce. Maybe I'm just very picky of those things but they all missed the mark for me. I honestly don't see...

I've been coming here for many years. I've never dined in because I don't like eating alone my husband doesn't like seafood I reckon it is a fairy nice place to eat kind of Nostalgic which is pretty cool.I can't rate any of the other food they serve I only get the Large Catch which consists of five very large catfish filets you better well be hungry to be able to eat all of them along with the sides I don't really care for I don't like their beans very bland don't like coleslaw hushpuppies are always hard and the French fries always old and cold but OMG the fish is awesome because I always tell the waitress to tell the chef how I want it fried and it's perfect everytime like I said I've been going there for over 15yrs to pick up my order it's always ready when they say it will be ready.I have ate other fish over time but it's Freddie's Fish and Grill family of the Fatcat keep me...

The whole in the wall that's what I considered this place. I have to say the food here was okay not the best I have tasted like I have read. Orderd the combination plate with catfish and shrimp fried okra and beans. The fish was okay could of been seasoned a little better fried soft how I like my fish fried. The fried okra was under cooked like they took it straight out the freezer batter them then put them in the fryer not good.I did enjoy the fried shrimp everything is fried here they might want to offer grilled fish and shrimp.
