My Wife and I went to La Fiesta Grande on Ross and had a major gross out. We arrived approximately 30 min before they closed. The hostess sat us down and was very kind however the waiter seemed to be in a big hurry and literally stated that we had to hurry and order because they were about to close. Well I had eaten at the one on 45th and Coulter before and was pleased. (Not authentic Mexican, not even TexMex) We should have walked out at that moment but I wanted my Wife to experience the taste of no mans land. However, against our better judgement we stayed and wined and dined on, not lacking a better term, dog food. No kidding! Our food was cold in some areas and hot in others. Gross Gross Gross......But the reason I described it as dog food is that you could not tell what was what. My Wife ordered the enchilada plate and I ordered the combo plate or something like that and it was terrible...... To make it short ( I know too late ) but the point is the staff did not care. Oh by the way I did tell the waiter it was my Wife's first time. Never will I ever visit La Fiesta Grande again. Rude, Tasteless, Gross, and Terrible.... I do not...

First time trying this restaurant so I didn't know what to expect. I was looking for a restaurant with a kids menu & didn't find menu listed but we're Texans so I'm pretty familiar with what is offered at a Mexican Tex/Mex restaurant & knew what to expect.

I found the prices at this restaurant to be on the pricey side when compared to similar restaurants (even the kids menu). I ended up sharing beef quesadillas with the kiddo. The portion was generous and came with sour cream and guacamole. Food was ok, nothing special. Normally when trying a new Mexican/Tex-Mex I order the enchiladas and base my rating (likelihood of returning) on that dish. This restaurant doesn't offer chili con carne, which is 100% Texan, so I passed. The offer was red or green. After having lived in NM for a few years I don't even want to think red or green chili! If you've been to NM you'll understand (green chili donuts 😝) lol. We ordered queso dip and it was unremarkable; no flavor at all. Ended up pouring one of the complimentary salsas provided into it to add flavor. Not likely I'd return to this restaurant between the prices & lack of flavor.

I posted a pic...

Today was not their day! Took my little to the bathroom, it was just the two of us. Come back and our table had been mostly cleared. We had just been given our food not long prior to getting up. I had eaten 1 tortilla with my fajitas, my kiddo had just a couple bites out of her burrito, plate full of fries. Gone. Waitress was like oh sorry and fumbled over her words. Took some time to get another drink, was told there were no more rolled silverware, so I would have to wait for some. Trying to get all my sides back for the fajitas was a mess. The waitress acted really weird after and service didn't get any better. Also had 2 tables sat after us get their food before us and both were 3 tops. Mine was just me and my kiddo. My annoyance started there, thought maybe our order wasn't put in and then remembered so it was late. Asked for one last to go box and never saw the waitress again or the box. The entire experience sucked today. Use to absolutely love this location. No attempts were made to rectify the...

Great historical place to visit while travelling route 66. The owner Mosel has been there forever and will pass the time telling interesting stories about the history of the cafe and the abandoned club next door. Definitely worth the visit and the foods good too.

Had a veggie fahitas for two. It was very good. Came with pico de gallo, guacamole, and refried beans. The veggies didn't have too much oil. For dessert, we had mini sopapillas with chocolate, carmel, ans strawberry sauce. Very tasty. Overall a good experience.

After several years have passed we gave this place another chance. The service has definitely improved. The food however is ok. The fajitas were on point, but the menudo tasted like it came out of a can. Save your money if you want Menudo and go to Amigos.
