European-style chocolates with a tradition dating back to 1913, made in the U.S. by the Stam family. Large case of bonbons, truffles, and fine caramels.

House-made gelato and a full coffee/espresso bar; they also make hot chocolate.

Extras: Iowa wines (e.g., Santa Maria Winery) and a few gourmet gift items.

Very friendly, patient service. Excellent latte (great microfoam and latte art). Gelato is spot-on. Wi-Fi available in the dining area.

Wow just wow. Visited this place on my second day in iowa from Maryland! I'm an avid chocolate lover and have tried all sorts of chocolates from godiva, royce, truman, l.a. burdick and much more and this local chocolate shop very easily beats every chocolate I've tasted in my life. If Chocolate shops had michelin, this place would easily be three michelin stars lol. I've tried their hot chocolate, caramelized waffle snack, and the truffles, and they are all heavenly rich in flavor and smooth. Gosh I can't describe in words how amazing they were! ALSO, I ran into the owner and he pleasantly introduced the history of this chocolate shop and was super friendly to us. Incredible chocolates and other treats served in a gorgeous store. I love coming to this place, I'm from Montana but every time I'm in Ames I make it a point to stop and pick up my annual box of chocolates. These are truly some of the best tasting bonbons and truffles I have ever had. In addition, they also serve great specialty coffee drinks and gelato made in a variety of flavors. The interior decor of this store is simply elegant. The cozy and inviting atmosphere make this a favorite spot among the locals to chat over a cup of coffee.
