Ames History Museum — Attraction in Ames

Cute and well organized history museum and library. It is a work in progress for some of the exhibits while others are very informative.

It tools less than an hour and the reasonable admission fee contribution of $8 is for continuing the good work.

The vault is uniquely interesting and the exhibits offer visuals and media in various forms throughout.

Everything is clean and organized. There is plenty of parking and an elevator plus accessible restrooms. Oh and a mini gift shop in the front.

Overall the museum is quiet and colorful it offers a nice place to see eclectic elements of local history.

Though the actual museum is a little small, the history that they have preserved is very interesting and it is free to enter. Their website is well designed and is free to access. They also have awesome hand-outs for walking tours of popular sections of Ames that list historical events and even point out pieces of history that have survived the test of time! I would definitely recommend visiting the website, and if you are already in downtown Ames looking for something to do you may as well stop by the museum if...

I like this place as they are always changing up displays and you can find out about anything you want to know about. They are also great as upstairs they have a few other businesses. And our Nami of CI is there we also have our Wellness center from 1 to 4 pm...
