Well, where to begin?! I have had the worst service going to this store!
On one occasion, I walked approximately 1.5 miles (one way) with a 1 yr old, 2 yr old, and 7 yr old, and my mom. We arrived to Dunkin' Donuts and guess what we found?? NOTHING. There were literally NO donuts. This was on a Sunday around 11-Noon...IN A COLLEGE TOWN! We asked the employees when they were going to re-stock their donuts. They said "IF" we re-stock, it won't be for a few hours at least.
On a second occasion, I had gone into the store, and the cashier took 5 minutes to even take my order (she was too busy flirting with her male co-worker). After she noticed customers were lining up, she decided to take my order. Then I had to repeat my order at least 3 times because she was still talking/flirting to her co-worker.
Another situation? I had gone here a handful of times. 4 times IN A ROW, I ordered a "large vanilla iced coffee with cream and sugar". I got to the window and they had a large vanilla hot coffee with cream and sugar... all 4 times in a row... no matter how stupid and loud I was when I expressed I wanted an ICED coffee.
Yet ANOTHER situation? Yeah I know... why the hell do I go back? (McDonalds is under construction, and its close to home--and hey, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt) Today [Sunday August 4, 2013 at 11am] I went through the drive through to order for my family. We wanted a vanilla creme donut--DONT HAVE ANY. A toasted coconut donut--DONT HAVE ANY. A corn muffin--DONT HAVE ANY. Glazed donuts?--okay we have a few left. WHAT THE HELL!? Not to mention it took the girl 5 minutes to acknowledge my order and they weren't even busy!! Oh yeah, we ordered a vanilla chai that cost $2.09... got home and it wasn't even 1/2 full!!! We also ordered a mint chocolate chip iced coffee with cream and sugar... NO MINT CHOCOLATE CHIP!! My sister returned to the store with the half full chai and the managers response was "I'm sorry, its on the weekends, and its hard to keep up". Well this place is located in the center of Iowa State Campus, and is literally surrounded my at least 3 churches. Good luck keeping up when over 30,000 students return to Ames and want Dunkin' Donuts before, between, or after class!
I have complained to the corporate office and nothing was done about it...especially when you only have 1500 characters to use to write to them. Ames Iowa is a COLLEGE town! And on a Sunday out of any other day of the week... when you have MANY church groups and families... to NOT have donuts at a place that is called DUNKIN' DONUTS is pretty pathetic if you ask me. Much less employing people who can never get an order right! So upon people who can't do their job correctly, there are never a selection of donuts because they are out and don't re-make them, and their total lack of donuts period.
Funny story... when I went to this location with the group of kids stated above, the 7 year old said "They should change their name to Dunkin' NO Donuts!". She proceeded to tell customers as they walked in... "If you want donuts, don't come here! They don't ever have any!" This company at this location is losing a LOT of money and a LOT of customers!
I will be sure to cross post this complaint wherever I can. And I can assure you, I will make the extra long trip across town to get my iced coffee--that I get daily-- at McDonalds. I can also assure this company that I, or my family will never come to this...
Read moreI am from Rhode Island, I love DD and was excited to see one come to Ames. This location is hit-or-miss.Sometimes I go to the counter, I'm the second person in line, getting a basic coffee and I wait ten minutes for someone to even come to the register. They are ALWAYS understaffed, normally with one person working the drive-thru and one for the counter. The person at the counter takes orders AND makes all the drinks, so a short line can get long really quickly if one person has a large order. One thing that really irked me was that they changed the hours without posting it anywhere. The drive-thru was open 24 hours. I went there twice at 11 pm and they were closed. I asked at the counter the next day and the confused worker said "we are open 24 hours, I don't know what happened." I came back the next night. Closed. I emailed them at the address on the "Comments?" door decal about it. No answer. Well, now I know they are open until 10 pm. They do not have their hours posted ANYWHERE in the store, and as you can see, Google doesn't know. Neither does DD Corporate, which still has their hours as 24 hours. Most of the time the donuts are slim pickings, and a lot of the time, they don't even have muffins. I have to make sure I order hot coffee if I want it, because they for some reason default to iced coffee if you order just coffee and they don't ask. The normal state of coffee is hot, if you want it iced, you need to say iced, that's the way coffee works. I gave it the three stars, because two stars is "disliked it," and I do love the coffee and the donuts and muffins, when they do have them. I have also never had a problem with rude employees or anything like that. I just really wish they'd get their...
Read moreI always expect the service to be faster when I go through the drive thru, but I am almost always wrong. I ended up turning my car off because I didn't want to just sit there and waste gas. I got a fairly large order this time, a steak, egg and cheese bagel breakfast sandwich, a Bavarian creme doughnut, the new Vanilla cake batter (I believe) and a medium frozen hot chocolate. The order came to a little over 10 dollars and I accepted it, even though I can go to a grocery store and pick out a dozen doughnuts and still have money left over for milk to dunk them in. As soon as I started eating the sandwich, I noticed something smelled kind of off. I work in a fairly dirty place, so I just assumed it was some residue from the grease on the machine or something. I narrowed it down to the egg when I couldn't find the smell anywhere around my work area. It was gross, but not disgusting. I didn't see mold or anything like that, it just didn't taste good. I ate the Vanilla cupcake and drank half of my iced hot chocolate before having to rush to the bathroom on my way to class. I had stomach cramps so bad that I ended up being 35 minutes late to a 50 minute class. Once it was out of my system I felt alright, but that didn't clear up for 3 days. Either I had a reaction to something, or maybe the cream was bad? The next day I finished my frozen hot chocolate that I had put in the freezer and I got sick again. Either something is in that hot chocolate or my body has grown completely intolerant of DD. Maybe America should run...
