One of worst place I have ever been in USA taste is good but waiting time is limitless even though there is no crowd there were be just 1 or 2 tables they took minimum 50 minutes to get food. We all go to restaurant of course to eat but also spend some quality time with family but when ever we went this restaurant we ended up by quarreling because of wait and hungry kids and all we never ever go here again , one thing I notice the breads are not fresh its frozen other than tandoori roti its ok but please give food early before kids start crying and parents get frustrated. I experienced this for so many times my family loves Indian food but unfortunately this is only one Indian restaurant in Ames.and restaurant open and close times also vary always, when our in laws came here last year we went there and sit for 15 minutes and the waiter come and tell sorry kitchen closed, we went there...
Read moreI decided to revisit India Palace tonight, it has been many moons since I last was here, and Iam left wondering why I waited so long... Everthing was excellent, from the service to the food. I ordered Chicken Nuggets for appetizer, it took about 10 mins after that to get them. They were real chicken too! They came with chili sauce, mint chutney, and tamarind sauce, also they brought me soy sauce on the side like I asked for. I had Chili Chicken with delicious rice for entree, very tasty and well done, about 25 mins give or take after I order, so all went well. Many refills on water and Coke, also had the bread (like Pita), I cant recall what its called, also very good. I left stuffed, not sure others complaining about portion sizes? Will return! No wifi or bike racks, catering and delivery though, outdoor seating when appropriate, rebuild...
Read moreMy husband and I ordered the Vegetarian Dinner for 2 to go. We chose a spicy level of 2. Next time we will go with 3 or 4. Everything was very tasty - from the samosas (hot and crispy, delicious filling) to the 3 main dishes - a dal, a paneer dish and a veggie dish (aloo gobi) plus rice (I think it was Basmati). We also ordered raita and mango lassi (exceptionally flavorful and not too sweet). Gulab jamun for dessert is always my favorite - delicate honey rose flavor. More food than we could eat. Very good the next day warmed in the microwave. The venue is very basic - mostly geared toward takeout. We have been to India and this food was as good as what we ate there. We will be back, definitely. The owners were friendly and wanted to be sure we had a good...
