I love this charming coffee shop. Great sandwiches! I meet colleagues here for breakfast meetups and my husband I go almost every weekend as we refurbish an Amesbury property (we live in NH). We usually go on a Sat or Sunday just before closing time, it always surprises me that they're open on weekends until 4 (I'm not sure if that's standard or not, but I find myself really grateful that they're open after a long day of manual labor) It's a wonderful place for community to gather. I see families, workers, dogs, friends...a very popular place for people to relax in a proper downtown and you can't beat the vintage charm of Amesbury's downtown. A few weeks ago my husband and I were eating/sipping while watching some nice people rescuing a bird that had got into some trouble (had a string tied around its foot so it couldn't fly). Read moreGreat spot for coffee or to run into friends. Staff is a mixed bag of extraordinarily helpful and quite helpful. I recommend this place to anyone needing to work on social anxiety like I have. They will walk you through the gamut of outcomes, helping you to hold up a mirror to yourself in the most constructive way possible. Give them your business. They've earned it.

Response to the response from the owner: My apologies for not making it clearer with the 1 star for service that I had a vexing experience with the staff, not a good one. In general, they are wonderful. Since you have asked what else you might do, here goes: give every member of your staff an inflation adjusted raise, incentivize them with a generous profit-sharing program and provide paid sick time. If you are on top of all of these things,...
Read moreThis place serves excellent iced tea. The pastries and cookies are always delicious too, and I like that you can order hard boiled eggs as well. My girlfriend loved the grilled cheese here, too, though I would say the panini I had last time was three stars. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff is always incredibly kind even if they seem a bit too “cool” to seem like they will be so warm once you ask a question. The place seems to maintain coffee shop culture like you can no longer find in bustling cities like New York anymore. It’s a dream spot. I’ll have to come back to try their bagel and lox.
If I lived locally I would be in...
