We are blessed with excellent Latin food around here, so our expectations were very high. We were not disappointed! The atmosphere and decor were lovely, prices reasonable, and the service was great. Our server was attentive, had a smile, and you could tell, was passionate to share the flavors of his homeland with us. The menu had plenty of familiar dishes, but there were also several ethnic dishes that we had never heard of before. We like to try as many things as we can to get a sense of a place. We began with the Tostones Rellanos appetizer. When it came out we knew we had found a special place before the first bite. It looked beautiful and tasted fabulous. For meals, I got a sampling of tacos (all of which were excellent). The soft corn tortillas were fresh and flavorful, as were the meats. All the ingredients were top quality. My wife went for something we'd never heard of: Chile en Nogada. It's a stuffed poblano pepper with meat filling and walnut-cream sauce. Wow! Just a spectacular dish. We then shared the cheese flan--according to our server--mom's homemade recipe. It tasted like a Crème Brûlée and a cheesecake had a baby. It was out of this world.
Honestly, we have zero complaints. We really loved it top to bottom. Right now it's BYOB as they are working on a liquor license, but I just popped across the street to grab a couple of Corona's at Provisions and our server went above and beyond by mixing us up a little something special to pour our Corona's into.
We'll be back for sure! I know there are good choices around, but give them a shot. They are easily as good as the best Mexican+ Restaurant in Amherst (which anyone around here knows which one I'm talking about), and their menu feels different enough that you will feel like you're getting something...

My partner and I recently visited 3 Amigos in Amherst, MA, after it was recommended to him by the owners. At first, I was a little skeptical, but the area is beautiful, and I’m so glad we went.
From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Alejandro (always a plus!). The restaurant itself is spotless, beautifully decorated, and really captures the culture they’re aiming to portray. The music tied in perfectly with the atmosphere and the restaurant’s name, 3 Amigos.
We started with the chicharrón de cerdo, elote, and a round of five tacos. Of course, I had to try a passion fruit mojito, and wow, it was both gorgeous and perfectly balanced. The chicharrón, served with fried plantains and salad, blew me away. The first bite was an explosion of flavor, the kind of dish that instantly makes it into my personal “top ever” list. (And if you follow my food photos, you know I’ve got nearly 5 million views, I’ve eaten at a lot of places!)
We couldn’t resist trying one of each taco, and they did not disappoint. The standout? The birria tacos. The consommé was so rich and flavorful, we even brought some home.
To finish, we were treated to some coquito. Normally, I don’t enjoy it, even though I’m Puerto Rican, but this one was unbelievably smooth, well-balanced, and beautifully presented.
Overall, 3 Amigos exceeded every expectation. The food, atmosphere, and service were top-notch. They have an event coming up on October 12th, so if you’re in the area, go support them, you won’t be disappointed! Thanks Hunny for the...
Read moreI just had the most incredible experience at this newly opened gem, 3 AMIGOS, and I'm already planning my next visit. From the moment I stepped inside, I could tell this place was something special.
The restaurant is run by three friends from Puerto Rico, Chile, and Mexico — and they’re not just the owners, they’re the ones doing everything: cooking, plating, serving. That personal connection and passion truly comes through in every bite. The food is deeply flavorful, thoughtfully presented, and clearly made with love and pride in their roots.
Service was on the slower side, but in the best way, you can tell they’re focused on quality and care, not rushing anyone through. And honestly, the wait only made me appreciate the meal more. Every dish felt like it had a story.
Prices are very reasonable for the area, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. Even better, the restaurant is BYOB, and conveniently, there’s Provisions right across the street, where you can grab your favorite wine or craft beer to bring along. It made the evening feel that much more personalized and relaxed.
Between the delicious food, welcoming vibe, and inspiring story behind the team, this place has all the makings of a neighborhood staple. Don’t miss the chance to support something so authentic and full of heart. I left full, happy, and...
