Ok I don't want to cast judgement on this place based one bad dish, but there's definitely room for improvement. I gave it a three star cause we were served raw wontons... This could easily be remedied with a kitchen timer rather than the "if it floats it's cooked" method. I mean the wontons came out really fast so we were surprised how fast it came out after ordering. The outside was semi-translucent so I thought it was ok, but when I ate the first one and found it wasn't hot and the texture wasn't right I knew something was off so I had to inspect the second one and told my gf if she had the same mouth feel eating the wonton and she concurred. I mean I lived to tell the tale after a raw wonton so just know what you're eating. The wait staff was kind enough to remake the dish which I would say was about 90% cooked with the meat texture closer to solid, but it was close enough.
So after that first encounter we were cautious of the rest of the dumplings we ordered and they were cooked and quite delicious! gf really liked the pork and corn dumplings and the fried bun style dumplings were on par with another place we've been to so that's good. The wait staff did give us a complimentary rain drop cake which was nice of them. But please if you read this, timer method is better than float method when it comes to cooking from...
Read moreI came to this location before there was a dumpling place here that was not good when I pulled up. I had my hesitations because I thought I was at the same place, but it did look fairly new. I talked to the workers and they told me Iâd open about four months ago. These are handmade dumplings. I did the soup dumplings, which I was very disappointed in. It had a weird taste to it kinda tasted like it was old. The spicy wontons had that Szechuan flavor at the end which I wasnât a fan of, but I donât really like Szechuan. You can taste the quality of the dumpling wrap, which was good. Fresh. You can definitely tell that they arenât bought in bulk hit and miss for everything for me. The dumpling wrap it is definitely made in Howse and they were making my dumplings as I ordered the pan fried beef dumplings were my favorite. Unfortunately I took it to go so it wasnât as crispy but definitely the best out of everything. the panda buns were among a couple other cute options, but this was filled with sesame and we wanted to try it out. It couldâve been a mess because I shouldâve heated it up, but it was OK. Everything was OK. Iâd come back and try other things clean restaurant easy ordering system...
Read moreThe food wasnât too bad but the pan fried buns were unbelievably hot, too hot to even touch. The meat filling inside didnât have as much flavor as I expected â i wasnât able to tell the difference between two pan fried buns. Also, it costs an extra $2 to pan fry dumplings instead of getting them streamed??
Lastly, I got a diet coke in a plastic to-go cup and I noticed a dead fruit fly close to the rim of the cup when I opened the lid. The other soda cup we had also had remnants of fly wings. We had already paid so I just left because I was grossed out. There were so many flies in the restaurant and it was way too warm inside. If I get sick, itâs definitely from...
