I ordered the hamburger meal which comes with fries and a drink. BETTER THAN IN-N-OUT
The hamburger was, from my experience, fresh ground beef that looked smashed, making it really thin but extra juicy. If you're looking for something thicker maybe order a double. I ordered it with only lettuce adding my own sauce of squeezed pepperoncini juice and ketchup, though they do offer your standard array of toppings and condiments (lettuce, onion, tomato, 1000 island dressing). I prefer my burger a bit basic to really taste the quality of the ingredients, at times I feel too many condiments or toppings can mask the taste of your hamburger.
The fries were fried perfectly and the seasoning was tasty, maybe a Lawry's or old bay derivative, not too salty, they were crunchy on the outside with a soft steaming inside. I usually ask for my fries well done because most places undercook them, in my opinion, but these were perfect. Their is a variety of condiments so I made a sriracha/ ketchup/ pepperoncini sauce which complimented the taste well.
I was looking for a local place to eat lunch but not at the packing house as I frequent there almost daily. Packing House has a great variety and selection of food but also comes with a more expensive meal and crowded atmosphere.
If you are looking for a local alternative, I believe Kookoo Grill is an awesome option, being a "Teriyaki Fusion Joint" they really nailed it with their burger so I'm almost certain everything else on the menu will meet the same quality and standards, if not exceed them.
They have an assortment of options ranging from burgers/tacos/burritos/rice & noodle bowls all at a reasonable price with a sufficient serving size. There is surely something you and your family will find on the menu to enjoy!
I will definitely be back to try everything on the menu. Thank you for the great food, atmosphere, and...
Read moreKooKoo Grill is a great find in Anaheim for excellent teriyaki and Asian fusion cuisine! This place isn't too far of a drive from Disneyland and the portions are large and prices are reasonable. The restaurant is fast, casual, and family-owned. The owner is very kind and friendly as well. As a first timer, I tried had to try the koo koo balls and a teriyaki plate.
The koo koo balls (3pcs for $4.95) were great! They are deep fried rice balls with savory chicken, onions, cilantro, and cheese. The outside texture is similar to rice at the bottom of a clay pot, which has hardened. The inside is warm, savory, and has a slight spicy kick. Top this off with their koo koo sauce for added flavor.
The chicken & beef teriyaki plate ($9.95) was also really good! Both meats were really good and very plentiful. It comes on top of a large bed of rice with a small side salad and Thousand Island dressing. The bowl version is just meat and rice and smaller in size.
If you are looking for great teriyaki fusion food in the Anaheim area, I would recommend coming to KooKoo Grill. It's good food, good service, and good value! There are definitely a lot more teriyaki and fusion items on the menu that I haven't tried, but look...
Read moreI was dropping off a package at UPS last week in the Anaheim Town center and noticed this little jem in the corner. I had never heard of a KooKoo Grill before and I'm always game for trying something new...within reason (must have at least four stars on Yelp and a decent amount of reviews). Since KooKoo Grill met my criteria, I gave them a try and got the half and half tacos. For a place that isn't Mexican, this place has some of the best tacos I've ever had! I came back this week and got the tacos again and had a nice discussion with the owner, Peter. He said next time I should try the burritos but to come hungry. You're on Peter, challenge accepted! :-) KooKoo Grill will be a staple for me whenever I'm in the area! Thanks again for the great food and...
