I can confidently say without much doubt, that this is the best donut shop in the world. Iâd consider myself a donut connoisseur and Iâve tried just about all of the popular donut shops around Orange County. Sidecar, friendly doughnuts, the donuttery, duck donuts, Dk donuts, seaside bakery, Oliboli and B&B Donuts. M&M donuts is truly on a different level from all of those places. You will need to come when they open at 9Pm to truly experience their greatness. You will end up waiting in line for a while , but it is well worth it. I suggest arriving around 8:15-8:30 so your wait is not as long.
Getting to the the donuts themselves, there are 3 signature donuts that are a must try from here.
Blueberry donut - They are truly the best blueberry donuts you will ever have. I suggest ordering at least a half dozen of these. They come directly out of the fryer when ordered and are piping hot and so crispy. They have a perfect layer of glaze on top and words really canât describe how amazing these are.
Oreo Donut- This is a chocolate cake donut with a layer of glaze, then it is rolled in Oreo cookie crumbs. These are served not as hot as the blueberry donuts, but they are usually warm and you can just tell the freshness when eating them. Everyone usually comes here for the blueberry and for good reason, but you do not want to miss these. They are truly delicious.
M&M donut- This is a chocolate cake donut topped with chocolate frosting and M&Ms. They are also warm and fresh but not like the blueberry. These standout because the M&Ms are almost half melted due to the donut being warm and fresh. Without a doubt the best M&M topped donut you will experience if you get them fresh, donât miss...
Read moreM&M donuts is known for two things: their crazy long lines and their blueberry donuts.
However, I was surprised to see that on a Saturday night at around 11:15pm the line was only ten minutes long. I was slightly disappointed by the display of the store. There is almost no signage whatsoever except for their coffee and absolutely no price listed on the donuts. After reading other reviews I was able to get an estimate as to how much I would be spending but still, I think it's quite reasonable to at least list out the prices! They only seem to have one "cashier" too even though there are a few people inside the store, and she goes back and forth from the actual line to the drive thru which adds to the long wait times.
I paid about $8.25 for a half-dozen box including 2 blueberry donuts, 2 m&m donuts, 1 Oreo donut, and 1 chocolate donut. I assume the blueberries were $2 each and the rest ~$1.
The blueberry donuts are absolutely delicious. They are made fresh every night and here's the catch--the line to order the donuts isn't the lengthy part, it's waiting to receive your donuts that is! But boy is it worth the wait. The donuts have a soft and fluffy texture to them and with a sugar glaze on top it just melts in your mouth. I highly recommend these!
I'm not a fan of their operating hours but I guess that's what adds to the appeal of the place. Overall, I'd say that this definitely warrants a visit but isn't something I'd immediately recommend as far as donut shops go. For the price you pay, you'll get fairly average donuts with a relatively long wait time unless you order their...
Read moreFinally made it out here after hearing all this hype from it! And it was opened on July 4!!
So, this is located in this huge plaza with Food 4 Less. If you see people waiting on the floor around this little store/shack late at night, you've found the right place. The wait was so long that the cars at the drive thru all turned off their engines haha.
Every order is made AFTER you order. I saw everyone before us ordering AT LEAST a dozen.. trying to get the most bang for the time they have to wait there. That night, only 1 guy was working EVERYTHING so the line to order was half an hour and people were already waiting 1.5 hours by the time I got there.
Thank god I wasn't feeling like a fatass and ordered a dozen for myself because my small order of 3 came right away! Or not right away but 20 minutes is a pretty short wait when it comes to this place (or so I've read and heard from other people).
It's def the best donuts I've had, but not something I go through this whole ordeal of driving and waiting for this. It tasted like a blueberry muffin that's been fried and glazed (a duffin? a monut?). So, it was more dense than a normal donut, yet fluffy that crumbs fell with each bite (yum). I'm not sure how much they are because he gave me 3 donuts for $3 (DID I GET HOOKED UP?!)
If you love your donuts, do try this!! I've never seen or had a donut like this before!! I've also never seen a man who worked so hard (manning the drive thru, making the donuts, and taking the orders at the window) seem so happy with what he does....
