I tried this place a couple of times in last two months. Every time it's amazing. The food is so fresh The boy who served there and the gentleman who is the owner behind the counter are very helpful. They always answer and serve with smile. I tried a few dishes to see if one is better than another but I was wrong everything is amazing. You can smell and see the freshness of the food as soon as it's served. The spice levels are adjusted just as you want. Event with my family and we ordered two different spice levels but trust me it was spot on. The veggies they serve with appetizers it's so fresh. I have tried lot of places before this place but after my first visit I stopped going to other places. They have a pretty good menu which is not very big but enough options for excellent dinner or lunch. If you guys don't trust me go try this place once and you will know what I'm talking about. I want to give them 100 stars but I know people are going to say I'm partial. So I say five stars in everything. Thank you so much I feel lucky that I found this place because it's not that visible. It's a hidden gem on Euclid and katella Street. Whenever I go to Anaheim it's very difficult to not eat at...
Read moreI spent a week in Anaheim for business and ate at this restaurant every chance I got which came to a total of three visits. "A vegetarian/vegan VIetnamese restaurant!?" I was hooked before I got there. The veggie pho broth managed to have the same depth of flavor that I remember from a home cooked bowl of beef pho. I was floored. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable and managed to sell a friend and I on the soy fish. At first it just sounded like fish-shaped tofurkey, but he told us how it was made which I found both interesting and appetizing. He explained that soy fish is a byproduct of the soy milk industry. After the beans are mashed and the "milk" extracted, there is a stringy soy "cake" left behind which is wrapped in seaweed, flash frozen, and served up as soy fish. A very simple, elegant method. The "fish" gets its flavor from the seaweed and becomes more intense/accurate after cooked in the oven or on a grill. I could name other things, but chances are you could throw a dart at the menu and end up with something you would order again. If you get an opportunity to visit the place, take it and enjoy some mind...
Read moreThuyền Viên has been a meaningful part of my food journey, especially during my time as a vegan. Even though I’m no longer strictly plant-based, this place continues to hold a special place in my heart—and my stomach! The quality and care they put into their dishes has never wavered. Every meal I’ve had here has been packed with flavor and warmth, the kind that truly nourishes you.
Whenever I’ve felt under the weather, their pho has been my go-to comfort—reviving me with every soothing, aromatic spoonful. And the hospitality here? Impeccable. The owner is always kind, welcoming, and genuinely respectful. You can tell this isn’t just a business—it’s a labor of love.
I’m so grateful Thuyền Viên is still going strong. It’s a place that consistently delivers both delicious food and heartfelt service. If you’re planning a visit, I highly recommend trying the garlic “chicken,” the rich vegetable curry, and of course, the soul-soothing “beef” pho. These dishes are just a few of my personal favorites.
Thank you to the Thuyền Viên team for creating such a warm and nourishing space. I absolutely love this...
