Oh boy! What a disappointment, this place was our go to for Biryanis. My wife gets the Spl. Chicken and I (usually)get an Avakkai Panner Biryani (leaving the "it's not really biryani" convo aside 😂) we would absolutely tear into it the moment we got our hands on it. Around these parts, it was one of the best biryanis we've had. We just ordered today, she got her usual but the one I usually get was missing on the DoorDash app (red flag #1), so I ordered the gongura paneer biryani instead. Food arrived and as we start unpacking notice the containers are different (red flag #2), raita is different (#3) no salna (#4), heck even the onions are different (red - white).
All can be forgiven but the first mouthful we both took, we were so disappointed. There's no flavor, the rice was over cooked and the spices were clumped and not very well cooked at all. The whole thing tasted like raw dry spices, mostly just turmeric and salt. We usually finish the whole bowl or at least a good decent portion of it but today, we barely ate a few spoonfuls, because we were extremely hungry, but that's about all we could manage to eat. The rest will probably be tossed or go in the compost.
I called the restaurant and they confirmed that the chef is new, that's fine but how can they mess it up so bad?? Does no one taste the food before it goes out to customers? Is there no standard recipe for new chefs to follow to maintain consistency? How does someone over cook basmati rice and think that's acceptable to serve to customers?
I very rarely leave a bad review as I know people's livelihoods depends on a business doing well but man, my disappointment is immeasurable and I'm sad I won't get to relive the taste of something I've comes to enjoy anymore. Hopefully things go back to the way they were but for now, we're not going to be ordering food here anymore till we see some better reviews in the future. Again, I'm all about supporting small businesses and hope to see theym do well. But it looks like the reviews have started to tank the past few weeks and I can see why. I don't want a refund or anything else. I just want...
Read moreThe most disgusting food I've ever eaten. I ordered chicken curry tika masala and a vegetarian dish. It was basically a bowl of oil mixed with salt and sauce. Very very salty and chicken that didn't even taste like chicken. I could not eat one bite. My microwave Indian dinners from the supermarket are better than this. I wasted all my grocery money because I had to throw it out. I couldn't eat it. It's not a restaurant either it's a cloud or ghost kitchen you don't even see what's going on in there. Just a bunch of cubicle and locked doors. I wouldn't mind if the food was actually edible but it is not. Whatever reviews are here are fake or from the owners friends because there is no way this is edible food very toxic. Even the white rice...
Read moreI usually dont post but this time i am doing this so if anyone wants to have paneer tikka masala or naan please dont order from here. As a north indian i know how paneer tikka masala should be and it was total opposite. Overprized, watery, sweet, low quantity, paneer was not grilled and tastless. Overall quantity of food was not sufficient. Ordered butter naan and chilli baby corn. Again quantity was little. Other day i ordered same kinda food from other place and it was suffiecient even though prices were same. Saw this place has high reviews but felt cheated. We were here for some days and had bad...
