This is a don't waste your money review. Took my daughter and her friend here for our first visit after a long day of work/school and their cheering at evening basketball game on a Friday night. The place being half empty should have told us enough before we sat down. Basically way overpriced subpar bar food. Tried couple appetizers to start. If you're expecting loaded fries to be lightly drizzled with toppings then you'll be fine with those. Pretzel bites/beer cheese nothing to brag about. I opted for fish and fries. I substituted fries for the onion rings. Fish overcooked and dry. Tarter was eh. Onion rings I'm assuming maybe freezing and or cooking method created the tasteless watery consistency I experienced with those. 👎 My daughter opted for the $14 steak hoagie. I was thinking that must be an extraordinary steak hoagie for that price. She only ate half. Can get one much better at any pizza joint for half the price ... She chose Mac and cheese for her side which came with a $2 upcharge we learned. Two bites and she was done. Said it was ok but the noodles were crunchy. I took a bite and way el dente, not what you'd ever expect with a Mac and cheese. Her friend just wanted a cheese quesadilla off app menu. Her comment was too much bread. I laughed inside thinking that's a pretty revealing comment considering it's a tortilla. Very lacking on filling. These girls aren't typically hard to please at all. Through apps and meal no one was ever offered a refill on their beverage. The place being half empty I wouldn't think that would be an unreasonable expectation. Lastly our only entertainment other than the tvs were swatting the fruit flys away from our food. In mid January I didn't even think these things existed anywhere Needless to say our first visit was certainly our last. The varsity which was the previous place here was much better as insinuated when my daughter said "the varsity was a lot better, I miss it" I definitely don't anticipate to see this place here much...
Read moreBy Golly's in Anderson Township is simply a gem that has quickly become my favorite restaurant in the area! From the moment you step through the door, the warm and inviting atmosphere welcomes you, setting the perfect backdrop for a delightful dining experience. The bar area is always buzzing with energy, thanks in large part to the incredible bartenders, Leila, Sierra, Angle, Tara, and Taylor. These talented ladies never fail to greet you with friendly smiles and are always ready to whip up a fantastic drink. Their welcoming personalities really make you feel right at home, and they are always happy to chat or recommend something delicious from the menu. What truly sets By Golly’s apart, though, is the amazing staff overall. From friendly servers to attentive hosts, everyone goes above and beyond to ensure that customers feel valued and appreciated. It’s a place where you can come in as a stranger and leave as part of the family! Of course, we can’t forget the culinary magic that happens in the kitchen, thanks to Gary, the best cook around. Every dish comes out bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Whether you’re in the mood for comfort food or something more adventurous, Gary consistently delivers amazing meals that leave you craving more. It’s also worth mentioning how thrilled everyone is to have Noelle and Leila from the former varsity here, bringing their expertise and charm to the By Golly’s team. Their presence adds a special touch to the already fantastic service and community vibe. Overall, By Golly's is more than just a restaurant; it’s a community hub where everyone feels welcomed and cherished. If you’re in Anderson Township, don’t miss out on the best restaurant around—trust me, you’ll leave with a full belly and a...
Read moreI really wanted to like this y'all. I'm sorry. We love the Milford location and was excited to finally check the new location out. To be fair, my family has enjoyed this location together and love the food. I came in and ordered a beer and the big pretzel. First it arrived without the mustard that was literally in the description of the menu. When I asked they said they would check in the back but they might be out of it. The pretzel was overcooked and literally had no salt. The cheese was not good. When the waitress came to check in I let her know it was not good and didn't even have salt. She was very kind and offered to have a new one made. 5 minutes later I get the same pretzel back I took 2 bitess from previously, with some salt sprinkled on it and they found the mustard. She said they were remaking it initially, so that was weird. Then a guy shows up to the table to say, are you liking it now? No, no I was not. He took it away and I was not charged for it. It was all weird. Weird. And not good. Look at other reviews. I'm not that guy. I really wanted to like it. My family was happy but they should not be anywhere near pretzels. Pretzel should get a restraining order. Waitress was very kind. $13 for a...
