The staff was friendly and great.
The pizza is supposed to be premium, and it’s definitely priced at a premium. However, it was very average quality in my opinion, and was nothing special. Some of the pizzas seemed intriguing, some seemed a bit much, but you could create your own if you didn’t like their listed pizza combinations.
I ordered the don corleone pizza, which had red sauce, pepperoni, salami, and ham. The taste of the pizza was okay, but nothing that wowed me. I was expecting it to taste better than something like Domino’s, but to me it was on the same average level.
The pizza was served on a cardboard pan versus a typical metal pan. Deweys did not (and apparently does not) include a pizza server utensil with the pizza. I asked for a pizza server when the pizza came out without one. An employee said that Deweys does not have those, and that I had to use my knife. ... okay, so to me cardboard and not providing something as simple as a pizza server does not really go with a “premium restaurant” in my opinion.
Almost every slice of pizza fell apart when I tried to transition the slice to my plate with having to use a knife instead of a traditional normal pizza server. The pizza was doughy and with the heavy toppings it was inevitable for the slice to fall apart without proper support of a pizza server. This definitely was not a premium pizza.
There are a lot better pizza restaurants around than Deweys. Next time I’ll know that if I feel like an average pizza I need to go to Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, or Domino’s and save a lot of money in doing so, because the quality was the same but the price...
Read moreDewey's has been on our list to try for a small while now, recommended to us by a local friend. We finally made it, and it was worth the trip.
The pizza crust is excellent. It's a perfect balance of browned and crispy underside and delicious chewiness. The toppings were generous and fresh, full of flavor with a great texture. They have several specialties, and you can order whatever toppings you want as well. They will make a half and half of any of their entries.
They have Coke products and tea, and a small range of craft beers. The dining room at this location is small but tastefully and simply done. Their focus is on the pizza, and they deliver that well.
When you first walk in you are treated to a picture window view of the kitchen and can see pizzas and other entrees being made and placed in the large oven. This is inviting and very pleasing to the eye, however, it also provides customers an up close view of the cleanliness. Sometimes clutter can be mistaken for being unclean, though, so my only recommendation is for the kitchen staff to be mindful that customers can see everything they see, and sometimes things they can't.
Business hours are generally 11-10. The wait staff was very conscientious, and we were seen to by other staff who were not busy themselves.
Being pizza connoisseurs for a while, it is good to find a place where we can branch out from our other favorites. I definitely want to return and try the salads and...
Read moreCame to Dewey’s tonight and put our name in. Keep in mind, I had brought our two young boys solo this evening. When I put our name in, I got a text saying I’d be notified when our table was ready. Around 6:30 I started noticing that people who came after us were getting seated. I approached the host. He asked my name again, and said he couldn’t find it. He then said he’d look into it and ask the manager. I gave him a couple minutes. He did nothing of the sort. So I then approached the manager and explained the situation. She did not apologize. Not even once. After 40 minutes of waiting, we finally got seated. I asked if there was any sort of compensation for our extra wait due to their error. Our server said he’d talk to the manager because they usually compensate something. The manager came over a minute or two later and all she said was, “Is this table ok?”, then walked away. Our server then approached me and said the manager said no compensation would be happening. I am extremely disappointed with their customer service. It isn’t hard to make a customer feel better about something that goes wrong on their end. Offer a drink. Something. Incredibly poor service on the manager’s part. She lost...
