I've done hundreds of Google reviews, almost all get five stars. It pains me to give this place three stars. But...
I came in and was greeted by the cashier immediately. Yay, very good! I wasn't in a big hurry, but I wanted to buy some stuff and go get on with my day.
I saw the signs where to start and why to the donut cases straight away. Only one person in front of me, and they were ordering and being served. Great! No wait really, that's awesome!
I saw a person who was tending to the drive thru, a person in the back, another associate who started talking to the one on the back, the lady waiting on the customer ahead of me, the lady who greeted me, and now an associate talking to the associate who greeted me - lots of associates to help, yay!
But then after about two full minutes waiting in them, the lady finished with the couple in front of me. Yay! My turn!
But then she began chatting with the two in the back, which became a group chatting (5 total) as I stood there waiting.
This is where most people lie: "I waited 15 minutes" lol. No, it was like two minutes. But it was like TWO FULL MINUTES - watching them chat while I waited to buy some really delicious looking and very over priced but probably worth it donuts.
Count to 120. One number per second. It feels like forever. If they were busy, I wouldn't have minded at all. But they were just chatting and my time and day was slipping away.
I run a retail store, and I'm sure this has happened in my store before too. Nobody's perfect, and this behavior is prevalent in many of our youth (until soon when robots and AI take over many basic jobs like this), so there always needs to be a leader on duty to keep things moving.
No leader, no service, no sale, no good review sadly.
Crispy Cream failed at this location. So to the owners -be aware and vigilant, lest you break the same as they did.
Good luck and I'll likely try again to buy you wonderful looking pricey but hopefully...

Read moreThis is going to be one of those reviews that is difficult to write, because while the atmosphere at Parlor is perky, the people friendly, and the donuts tasty, it’s an expensive alternative to a place we already have in the area. Marcella’s Donuts, with locations in Mt. Carmel, Eastgate, and Amelia, has delicious donuts, the same if not a greater variety of unique treatments, and costs probably half what Parlor costs. Case in point: We purchased 6 donuts at 3.50 and 2 gluten-free donuts at $3.95 each for a total of $30. A baker’s dozen of fresh and very similar donuts from Marcella’s is less than $20. On top of that, while Parlor features just cake donuts, Marcella’s also has yeast donuts.
I know this sounds like an ad for Marcella’s and it’s not meant to be. Instead, it’s meant to be a review for Parlor in the sense that it is simply a very expensive remix of something we already have.
Now, as a bonus, Parlor does have the bonus of gluten-free donuts, but they are terrible. Their texture is at once gooey, crumbly, and dense, and they taste strongly of coconut flour. I have purchased frozen and boutique gluten-free donuts from Jungle Jim’s that cost less and have a better texture and flavor.
In short, then, Parlor is a...
