Gold Star + Tom & Chee — Restaurant in Anderson Township

I went here because I was wanting Tom & Cheese. I had gone to another Tom & Cheese location in West Chester and had such a wonderful experience, so I thought I would try this one. Buyer beware, rant incoming! This place is not a true Tom & Cheese location in my opinion. It's first and foremost a Gold Star. If you want Gold Star then this place would be a solid 4 star. However they only offer a partial Tom & Cheese menu, very disappointing. Also they do not provide the same food as a regular Tom & Cheese. Got the southwestern street corn salad it had a romaine blend instead of mixed greens for the base, the chipotle ranch salad dressing was also not the same as theirs has a spicier kick to it, and the tortilla strips were dry and very stale. I ended up picking them out. Second the mac & cheese ticked me off. It's supposed to be a four cheese blend. The West Chester location makes theirs using white cheeses; it's so creamy, well baked, and absolutely delicious. However, this location uses a cheap-box-tasting mac & cheese adding in their yellow cheddar cheese. Seriously, it is no better than the Walmart deli counter mac, disgusting over cooked pasta that is definitely not creamy, delicious, or worth the $5 price tag. Needless to say, I'm beyond livid with my experience and the amount of money I spent for this meal. I will NOT return here as they are giving Tom & Cheese a bad name. If I want Gold Star, I'll go to my normal local location where at least I don't feel like I'm being lied to about what they offer...

Literally Just went through the drive thru, they were busy. The car in front of me got tired of waiting and drove off. When I reached the window, the girl asked if I had 2 coneys (which I did) so I said yes, but also a cheeseburger. She recited my whole order, 2 cheese coneys NO ONION, Cheeseburger only heavenly and a large mt dew. I told her it was correct. The other lady working brought over a bag containing 2 cheese coneys and said have a nice day. I told her I needed my burger as well. She retrieved the burger and it dawned on me that the coneys I was given were probably for the car that drove away so I specifically asked the lady, THESE CONEY'S DO NOT HAVE ONION ON THEM CORRECT? She said No.I get back to work, starving, give the burger to my coworker and sit down to eat my coney's and both of them have onion on them. I am not sure why she didn't tell me I should check them if she honestly had no idea if they had onions on them. So now I get to work another 6 hours before I get a chance to eat the first meal of my day all because she was too lazy to do her job correctly. I will not be returning to this location, the one in Amelia ALWAYS gets everything correct and the food is better anyways. Oh and I called to talk to the manager and they put me on hold, laid the phone down and the manager never came. Thank you Gold Star Anderson, I love working all day with no lunch, not to mention I really love paying for 2 cheese coney's I can't even eat. Thanks a lot. Get...

Horrible experience. Ordered through GrubHub, arrived 10 minutes after it was to be picked up. The cashier looked panicked at the empty warmer, then turned to the manager. The manager tells me that the order didn't make it to the kitchen, so it'll be another 10 minutes. I called my wife, to give me a concrete point of reference and waited. Minutes later, three people walk in, 2 not wearing masks. The cashier said nothing, took their order and went about his business. Checked the time, I've been waiting for 15 minutes already, and then I see it... Not my late order that they've somehow missed, but the order just placed by the unmasked walk ins. Floored, I ask the manager if I'm just supposed to be ok with waiting three times as long as l was promised and how on earth did an order placed after mine somehow get made first? Not waiting for the reply, I just asked for a refund which he denied because he said they aren't responsible, it's a GrubHub thing. Probably true, tho. Food was good, the fried eggs are absolutely perfect. S'mores donut was yummy but messy. But honestly, the Mac and cheese is ok. Really expected a life changer based on the hype, but just ok.
