I typically love Jack's. My experience at the Anderson location could definitely have been better. I took my boys on National Donut Day. I thought about going to the New Castle location which is our favorite, but decided on Anderson because it's closer. They were extremely busy which was expected. The line literally went out the building.
As we got closer to the counter, one of the kids in front of us in line got sick. His mother grabbed napkins and cleaned it up. The staff were extremely busy but one looked and then looked away. No one helped clean it up.
When we got to the counter there was a younger girl who had a big smile and seemed very friendly. Unfortunately the lady that helped us was not friendly at all. I'm sure she had a long morning but she was borderline mean. She didn't show once. When my kids told her which donuts they wanted she had a look on her face that let us know that we were a huge inconvenience for her.
I saw that there were some new coffee cups. I asked how much they were. She rolled her eyes and then says $15 like she knew I wasn't going to buy it. I actually was until she had an attitude. I'll go buy one from Muncie or New Castle.
When we sat down to eat, we decided to sit by the TV. We soon had to move because it was set to Maury and there was a couple screaming at each other and cussing a lot. It was not good for my kids. I looked for a remote but there wasn't one by me. I tried to get the attention of staff without having to get in the line to ask if they could channel and they completely avoided eye contact.
Finally the donuts were all overcooked. I thought it might just be me until my kids told me they didn't want to finish their donuts because they didn't taste right.
I know it was a crazy day due the staff and sometimes things slip when you have way more traffic than usual. However, things still should've been better. This is the closest shop to where I live, but I'm not sure that I'll come back to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy initial experiences at jacks donuts made me very confused. How does a donut shop, have almost no variety of donuts, and no one actively making donuts at 10:30AM. If your store hours are correct, this means you plan on offering the majority of your store hours, with little to no choice in donuts. I constantly see trays full of donuts that arenāt very popular at your store (see anything with caramel, or peanut butter) yet, these are the donuts you seem to only have available throughout the day.
The second wave of issues I had with your store is regarding your coffee. For over a month, I went into your store 2-3 times a week, to ask when you would return your coffee machine. I got the same generic āwe are working on fixing itā answers. How does it take over 1 month to repair your coffee machine Mark? Speaking of which, you were extremely rude when I came in asking you for iced coffee. You corrected me, incorrectly, and said that I was asking for an iced latte. You then condescendingly explained that your store identifies drinks differently, in fact, incorrectly! Iād highly encourage you to do some research on different types of coffees, before you berate customers who frequent (or frequented) your store.
My most recent experience with your store was a head scratcher... I ordered a medium iced coffee (sorry ICED LATTE). They informed me that they only sold small, or large. You have medium listed for every drink on your menu, and have cups that are in between small and large, which I would dub as āmediumā.
TL:DR Jacks offers a wide array of donuts until about 10:00AM, after which, hope you like stale caramel donuts, that they made the day before. Also, the worst customer service I had was from their owner, the rest of the staff...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went in the Anderson store last Monday afternoon to sit down for anFew minutes. It was quiet and not much activity going on but it was mid afternoon, most people are working. I sat down with my donut and milk and a lady came walking in. She came up and spoke to me and was asking where she knew me from. We talked a minute and realized it was because she works at Dollar general store on Broadway and I go in that store to shop at least once a week. After she left a very sweet young lady was cleaning out in the seating Area and we started talking. She said the lady was her mom. We talked for several minutes about random life and our families. I was telling her how lucky she was to still have her Mom because I lost mine 10yrs ago and I still miss her to this very day. I told her to appreciate every word of advice and wisdom her Mom gave her. She praised her Mom and talked Bout how her Mom was raising her to be responsible and how hard her Mom works for them to have a roof over their heads. She's such a sweet girl, and so polite! You should give this gal a raise because she's a wonderful asset to your store! I know this may not be a typical review but people appreciate a younger person having some conversation with them and it was nice to hear a younger person appreciate not only her mother but her place of employment as well! Lacy, it was so nice to meet you and talk with you. Thank you for your kindness. š THE DONUT I HAD WAS REALLY GOOD TOO!! Good donut & good conversation! Thank you Lacy! Kelly...
