Sitting here now. Saturday February 18th 8pm. 4 adults 2 kids. We all order. 10 minutes later we are told there are no buns. 3 people had to change their order so just one person could have the last bun. But wait surprise 5 mibutes later were told there is now no bun!
Next the 2 kids tell us how spicy their chicken is. We ordered it from the kids menu. Guess what.. it's very spicy! No indication on the menu that the kids chicken is spicy. Now my 4 yr old has a stomach ache and can't eat anymore.
I ask the waitress for the managers contact information. She informed me she would get that and be right back. 2 minutes later a woman shows up and stares at us with no introduction or indication of who she is or why she is there.
I tell her I had asked the waitress for theangers contact info and asked if instead I could get it from her. She said "uh okay" and returns a few minutes later with a hand written phone number and a name for Jimmy Davis. I was told he is the owner. She then again says nothing and just stands there.
At this point it is clear she will not take the lead and take responsibility for the situation.
I ask her... does it say anywhere on the menu that the kids chicken is so hot? Her response.. we buy it that way from the company who sells it to us. So I ask her again whether or not it says that the chicken is so spicy anywhere on the menu. This time she responds and tells me it does not. I then inform her about the bun fiasco and she tells me that the cook told her and then she told our waitress to tell us. She then said that when that happens they offer the option of white bread or toast. Clearly this happens more often than it should. I then tell her how disappointing everything was and that if I was in her position as a manager I would be personally taking responsibility for what happened and would have engaged the customers my self to inform them about the bun problem.
One of our guests asked if she would remove the charge for the kids chicken tenders. She responds with a confused uh..um.. let me look at that for you. She then turns and walks away... never to be seen again. Our waitress returned and informed us the other lady has removed the charges from our check.
A very disappointing experience overall. My food order in its self was cooked well and tasted fine. It was the only good point to the night.
Also the door latch in the men's bathroom is broken and instead of replacing it there is a slide lock about 5ft in the air where my smallest boy couldn't lock or unlock it himself.
Here's my advice to future patrons: If you go here make sure they verify all of the ingredients are available first! Also don't give the kids the chicken tenders unless they like...
Read moreMy family went to eat here last night. We stood at the hostess station for approximately 7 minutes waiting for someone to come and seat us. A large family stood behind us waiting as well. Finally a server approached and said "I don't know where she is, but I'll seat you". She lead us to a table and my husband grabbed a highchair for our 2 year old. Just as we were about to place her in it, the hostess walked by, phone still in her hand with the screen open, and without even stopping to make eye contact with us, jerked the highchair away from the table and slung it back against the wall. As she did this she said, "Nope, can't put this here, go to the back of the room". She never even looked at us. She then walked away. We were literally speechless. A nearby server, eyes wide, said "There's a table back there", and pointed to the back of the room. My husband said "But we still need the highchair".. and she said "You can go ahead and get it again".. as we walked to the back of the room, I noticed other patrons looking at us, equally shocked. We sat down, still in disbelief of how we were just treated, and waited another 6 to 7 minutes for someone to come get our order. My husband, getting angrier and angrier the whole time, decided he wanted to leave. As we stood to walk out, a server approached a nearby table and told us she was just about to come to us, but my husband told her it was ok, we were leaving.. as we collected our daughter, we heard a male server behind us tell someone at the table "I don't have time", and walked away. I have never in my life had an experience like this in a restaurant. I saw many unhappy faces as we made our way to the exit, including the large family that was behind us at the hostess stand. I'm not sure where the manager was, if there even was one present, but if so, he/she should spend more time in the front of the house to make sure his employees are doing there jobs instead of being off somewhere on their phones, and should also terminate the rude hostess immediately. We...
Read moreI was so saddened how downhill this place has become. With them suffering thru this epidemic you would think they would make sure their customer service was first rate. My daughter whenever visiting from Cincinnati this is the number one place we always go she has fond memories of eating there. Upon being seated she made sure the waitress new we were celebrating a birthday. After waiting 15 minutes the waitress finally comes to the table and told us we had to request menus. I ordered water with lemon and maybe some extra lemon in a bowl she brought me tea with a couple of lemons on it which I was charged for. I even tried whenever we had to ask for biscuits and cornbread because we had to wait so long to be served and had two children with us. My daughter was giving better beans basically like in a water water from the can with no seasoning whatsoever. When we asked to trade them out for something else we were told that the policy there was they won't do that even if it is unacceptable to the individual they won't trade adapt. She was brought a refill no ice in it or anything and warm with an attitude. I asked to talk to the manager it took quite a while for her to come to the table and when she did come all she says well that's the owners policy that we can't trade out even if what was given is unacceptable there is no refund offer no mention of whose birthday is it the waitress was cold as ice never again Mama Penn's...
