In the world of fast food, consistency is often the benchmark of quality. Yet, my two visits to the same Whataburger location within a 12-hour span highlighted a stark reality: employee performance can define a dining experience.
My first visit occurred on December 23rd at 9 p.m. The experience left much to be desired. After placing my order, the wait time stretched to an unacceptable 10 minutes—a glaring issue in a fast-food establishment. When the meal finally arrived, it was devoid of basic accompaniments like napkins and sauces. Not once was I asked if I would like any. A small but essential detail, forgotten entirely, leaving the impression of an uninterested and unengaged staff.
Fast forward to 9 a.m. on December 24th, and the atmosphere had shifted dramatically. This time, I was greeted by an attentive and efficient morning crew. My order was prepared in just 2 minutes, handed over with a pack of napkins, and a friendly offer of sauces. The difference in service was night and day, raising questions about training, staff morale, or perhaps the culture of different shifts.
Unfortunately, an overarching issue marred both visits: the quality of the beverages. The Sprite I ordered tasted unmistakably off, with an unpleasant moldy undertone that hinted at a need for immediate attention to the soda fountain’s maintenance. It’s not only disappointing but also a potential health hazard that demands action.
In conclusion, Whataburger’s ability to deliver a satisfying dining experience is entirely dependent on the team behind the counter. While the morning shift demonstrated the care and efficiency one hopes for, the evening crew fell short of even basic expectations. And while I might return for the food, I’ll steer clear of the Sprite until I’m certain the issue has been resolved.
For Whataburger to truly excel, consistency must become a priority—one napkin, one sauce packet, and one...
Read moreThis is solely based on my own personal experience with WhataBurger!( also I never write reviews, that’s just how bad of an experience I’ve had here )I have been to this restaurant 6 times since they have opened and it has been by far the worst restaurant/experience that I have ever been to! First couple of times I was like ok they are new, so understandably they need to work the kinks out. So go back a few other times thinking it would at least be better than the last couple of times, let’s just say that was not the case! Only one time out of the 6 was it ok, and let’s just say that was because I just ordered a sandwich as it comes! Personally if I go to a fast food restaurant, my kids don’t always like some of the things on a sandwich and sometimes i like to add something’s to my sandwich. Let’s just say that if you have a special request you ARE NOT gonna get your food how you asked for it! So if your preference is eat it how it comes then it’s most definitely your kind of place. What really topped it off for me to make this review is I had a DoorDash order and they didn’t start it until after arrived at the store and waited 30 mins to be told it still had not been started even tho I was standing there and it was talked about. After a few mins I asked how much longer and the cashier just walked back up front and didn’t say anything, so I asked again and her words were “ he’s stressing and so I’m gonna just let him do his thing!” It has just been multiple...
Read moreThe food is super delicious. But the drive through takes FOREVER. Like it’s hot, I’m hungry, my blood sugar is dropping and my ac is struggling sitting in line for burgers. Why does it take so long? We hopped out and got snacks at the food truck next door to tide us over until we could pull up to the window. I’m not exaggerating. Also they have two lines for the drive through to order but just know if you pull up to the outside one absolutely no one will let you in. Might as well go somewhere else. We got donuts while waiting.🤷🏼♀️ Can’t say that is an endorsement.
So disappointing. When I finally got my food about 15-20 min later it was a cold burger. Maybe it had been made fast but the line didn’t go fast enough and the burger got cold? I asked them to remake it by going inside and heard the employee saying “she wants it remade”, and this employee was nice, and someone else yelling “WHY?” And then a lot of complaining about it. The food is really good and that’s such a conflicting thing because I’m unsure if I’ll go back. It ultimately ended up taking about 40ish minutes.
Edit to add: some staff was super nice and helpful. One offered me a cup for a drink to help with the low blood sugar because I’m diabetic. And that was considerate, so I grabbed some swallow of sweet tea so I didn’t get too dizzy. So thank you to her for understanding that diabetes low blood sugar doesn’t wait. Once it starts dropping...
