Mancino's of Anderson — Restaurant in Anderson

I’ve had Mancinos multiple times over the course of 20+ years and always thought it a good quality place for your money. Not the best in town but above average and a nice change up from “the usual” once in a while. Honestly never been disappointed with it.

However, yesterday when I decided to get some for dinner (when no one else wanted food so I just ordered for myself), I noticed a couple things I hadn’t seen before which I hope were just an oversight.

I ordered Greek grinder and an 8” pizza with a handful of toppings.

The grinder was fine but it could have used some sauce. I’m not even sure if the menu specifies whether it comes with sauce but you’d think a Greek sub that is offered at a restaurant only .1 miles from another gyro restaurant would have tzatziki sauce and by default offer it on their Greek sub.

The pizza was also fine (not great) but the one major standout to me was that I ordered bacon on it for the first time only to find that they use literal dried bacon bits! Like the kind you buy at Kroger and put on your salad or baked potato. I’m just picturing the owner and manager discussing their ingredients and deciding that dried bacon bits are acceptable on a pizza. If nothing else you should at least let people know this beforehand and not charge full regular topping price for 10 cents worth of dried bac-os on a pizza when other places charge the same amount for real bacon. This just defies common sense to me. The pizza still wasn’t bad but any normal entrepreneur would know that that isn’t what folks are expecting when they order bacon on their pizza.

Lastly they charged me $1.49 for each topping when the website clearly states that for an 8” pizza each topping is $1.09. Wouldn’t be so bothered by that if it weren’t for the damn...

What a difference 4 years makes! We went there today. All tables were clean and the food was great. We will be going back. Their Calzones are great.I got the special for 6.99 and a small pepperoni pizza for my son. When she gave me the total, I was astounded and asked how much was that small one-ingredient pizza. She seemed a little embarrassed and said something had already been on the transaction she went ahead and took that off making the price a little more reasonable. I didn't get a copy of my receipt, so if I hadn't been paying attention, I guess I would have paid for someone else's food. We chose a table and noticed there were crumbs on it. We chose another table and it was dirty too! I went to the front again and asked if there was something they could give me to clean my table. At that point someone did come and cleaned our table and numerous others. The food looked good when we got it. They always have the best breadsticks in town. The salad looked better than it tasted. It was large, but it certainly wasn't the freshest I've had. I wanted salt for my salad and thus began the great salt hunt. My son finally went back to the front and came back with a salt shaker. Is there a crime wave where there can't be salt on the tables at all times? The breadsticks can't be beat, but this was not an experience that would make you want to return...

ineat here 3 times A week great local bussiness but the girl on the phone is gona put them out of bussiness. i ordered a large pizza whole itilian combo and chicken alfrado i said ill pay over the phone someone willl stop and get. she said call back and pay i said i cant pay now she says im busie at reg call back and if i am not busie you can oay i said how am I gonna pay for select can she said you may have to call back a couple times I said well how about you? Call me when you're not busy. She said you'll just have to call back so we just cancel or if I can't pay for it she should know. I don't wanna cancel the order I said how am I gonna pay for you? Tell me I gotta keep on coming back. She said yeah you have to do that if you want to pay for it or figure out a different payment option that's about the time we just sit and talk on the phone you could run it paid for she said just keep on calling back. No, just cancel it. I'll never come back down there. They better get some new help. If they're gonna stay open people I like your food a lot but today I had to spend $60 somewhere else. If your workers can't collect money, you may replace them or...
