Food -1 service - 5 atmosphere- 5
Spent thirty-five dollars for a grilled cheese with truffle fries, two sides of “meatball,” and a couple of bottled waters.
NOW HEAR ME OUT….
This review is NOT about the cost of food. It should be understand that food costs/ labor have a huge impact on how restaurants operate …that is FULLY UNDERSTANDABLE.
Paying a premium for well prepared food is (and should be) expected, provided that food is well prepared AND as ordered!
Had asked for TWO sides of “meatball” … now I did not realize how small the meatballs are, however the ONE of TWO that I had ordered/received was absolutely delicious (four dollars for one, btw!..plus tax).
Very highly recommend the meatballs.
Make sure if you pay for two meatballs that you get two meatballs. Most expensive meatball I have probably ever had in my life, lol. Still tho, absolutely delicious.
Next, The grilled cheese that I ordered was not exactly “grilled.”
The order that was placed may have been close to closing time (absolutely my fault, no question there at all) which is why I tried to choose the most simple thing for the kitchen to prepare. Employees want to go home at the end of the day. We all do. HOWEVER, the first paying customer is just as important as the last paying customer. I was truly unsatisfied with the execution on the grilled cheese sandwich. Easy. Sloppy.
Would have much rather been told something like the following: “sorry, we are not taking any more orders at this time” instead of being disappointed.
Sidewinder truffle fries are delicious....
Read moreI gave a go at Brooksy's first by dining in and chose to sit indoors although you have the possibility to enjoy their outdoor space if you'd prefer. I enjoyed the music which wasn't too loud, how simple the decoration is as it matches perfectly what you'd seek for a brick oven pizzeria (you ofc have THE oven) and their service was neat and nice. The second time I ordered a pick up and I appreciated the pizza was set in a place to keep it well warm so even if I was kind of late on my pick up time, my pizza was still at a nice temperature and didn't require to be reheated home.
So if you are looking for actual italian style pizza: Brooksy's is a stop you should definitely make! The crust is thin and crispy, garnish is the right amount (no cheese cargo dumped savagely on your pizza ending up in a titanic of sogginess) and you end up pleasantly satiated. So far I have tried: Truffle Mushroom (Delicious), Veggie pesto (loved it) and Chicken broccoli (added a hint of pepper to match my taste as I found some kick was missing with that one).
I have yet to try their salads the burrata was looking great but I'm 100% going back to Brooksy's or ordering back from this place which I recommend! PS: The pizza were too good so it was gone before I could take any...
Read moreI’m leaving 4 stars but it’s really was a 3.5 on quality of food but there could be factors that affected this. One of the pizzas was clearly over baked on the side of burnt. The other two were decent although I found the crust closer to chewy rather than soft. We only ordered mushroom and they really need to work on quantity given the higher then normal price tag. We had take out not dine in but the atmosphere looked welcoming with a great vibe. The staff were friendly and I’m sure the service is good. I think this is probably a good place or at least could easily be. Respectfully I believe they could easily move from ok(good) to great if: 1. They work on their quality control. 2 reconsider their prices as they are at least 15-20% too high for pizza. I definitely wouldn’t do take out again, seriously I’m not a fan of the local chain pizza in town but I would have enjoyed their pizza more at half the price. If you are looking for a tavern small town feel for dine in, give them a try. if the pizza is overcooked send it back as I believe the owner would value...
