Went in for first time to the morning Star Restaurant. Met and visited with owners while waiting for my take out order. These folks create a homestyle, from scratch meals. I was overwhelmed with the quality, quantity and flavor of the beef tacos, vegetable Tortilla soup and desert. I love to cook, but these folks provide the reason not to. You cannot, should not walk away without a slice of one of ther homemade delicacies. I personally sampled their lemon meringue and mix berries. Enough said, I'll be back tomorrow for more. When you go by there, tell Stuart that the Aggie sent you! Rolando

Highly recommend for breakfast if in or around Angel Fire, NM. I went here 3 days during my stay and stopped by again on my way out of town for the breakfast smothered burrito. I never had green Chile before but tried since it's a New Mexico thing and it was good. Let the host know the family from North Carolina and Atlanta sent you. I didn't take a picture of the smothered burrito.

This is what every restaurant should strive to be! I ate on two different days and the food was as good as you would get at your Grandmama’s home! Portions are perfect. AND don’t leave without having dessert! I promise you won’t eat here only once!! **I have an update to my earlier review - IT IS STILL FANTASTIC! If you are hungry for good ole home cooked food,, this THE place!

Me and my dad stopped by Morning Star today after skiing and that was genuinely the best food and service we have had anywhere in Angel Fire. The second we walked in we felt very welcomed. The man (I can't remember his name) at the front counter talked to us for a while and told us about the special so we went ahead and got it. Today it was meatloaf. Probably the best meatloaf I've had in a long time. I had hot chocolate which was also amazing and my dad had a latte and his said it was the best he's ever had too. In his words "this latte kicks Starbucks *". After our meal we tried the cherry pie. Which I'm not big on pie and my dad hates cherry pie. But that was truthfully the best cherry pie either of us has ever had. It was fresh and made with real ingredients rather than the typical fake fillings. And to top it off, we got a lot of food and it wasn't expensive at all. And they gave us military discount since I'm currently active duty. All in all, Morning Star deserves way more business. They are awesome and if you want a good home cooked meal, this is the...

We (4 in our party) braved the snow to stop in here for a big breakfast. The juevos rancheros, chicken fried steak, and green chili pancakes were all absolutely delicious! The hash browns were also perfectly seasoned. We got to meet and visit with the staff, learning a lot about the history of the restaurant, and their community outreach. We are so impressed... not only with the incredible food, but the incredible people behind it. We ordered several pints of green chili sauce to take home with us because it's the best we've ever had, and Liliana makes it fresh every day!...
