It was awful! We were greeted politely and thats about all good I can say about it. Once our order was taken the server & I discussed a side and was told if I didn't like it they would give me something I did. However I never got the chance to tell her anything. Dropped off the food and I didn't see or hear from her again. After about 20 minutes we were ready to go. I hadn't touched a bite. Why? Never got any silverware. Children never got any ranch for chicken tenders and the servers answer to that was " well I just thought she wanted ketchup ". Sure for the fries but she never checked on us. The worst part was when the server sent a crabby old white haired skinny lady to the table she said it was my own fault for not getting up a getting some silverware. Really? It was my fault the kids didn't get ranch sauce or tea cause I didn't get up and seek it out. Really? The older lady's answer to the problem was to take the cold soggy food and put it in a takeout box for me. I said no,not only am I not eating this cold food, I'm not paying for it either. The onion gravy had uncooked onions on it and the okra was soggy. Each! She yelled out in the dining room as she went to the kitchen angry " well alright then!!"

I paid for the other 3 meals and she was still arguing that all this could have been avoided if I had just gotten myself some silverware. Really?? She had every excuse in the book for why this was my fault. Really. I don't believe they will be in business long, not treating customers this way and loud & publicly. I just turned and said " I just hope you all have a website."

She was still shouting at me as I went out the door. I don't even know what she was saying now but I'm sure it would be my fault.

I expect I will tell everyone I can about the horrible experience and I would hope the owner would not approve of how these people handle unhappy customers. That's a sure way to get a bad review. Blame the customer for the servers and managements incompetence. 2 kids meals and a burger $22 on...

My family of 4 decided to try this local gem of a restaurant in Angier, on a Thursday morning after 10 am. This place was busy! Usually a very positive sign that the food will be good. We weren't disappointed. Good homestyle cooking at reasonable prices! Generous portions, as well!! My husband ordered the breakfast special-2 eggs, sausage, substituted home fries (for grits or hashbrown casserole) with toast. My father ordered the sausage cheddar omelet with home fries and toast. My daughter and I ordered the vegetable omelet with a hashbrown casserole and biscuit. Everything was delicious. Definitely not low calorie, but worth it!the omelet was full of roasted vegetables and cheddar cheese. So good!!! They even had applebutter and orange marmalade (*Smuckers brand)! Our server, Kim was amazing! Polite, friendly, patient, energetic, and attentive, despite having to handle many tables and duties at once. She was the hostess, waitress, bussing tables and probably more...!Although they were short-staffed, we didn't really wait too long to be seated, our orders were taken quickly and patiently and best of all, our food was served hot and exactly as we ordered 😉. It's obvious that the locals come here frequently because I heard our server, Kim address many of them by name. It felt homy and comforting to find a local business that caters to their community. I believe it has been a local staple for about 30 years. Check it out. You will be pleasantly surprised and hopefully, it will become your next favorite family restaurant, too. As a side note, our breakfast was so big that my daughter and I needed boxes to take it home. Each plate was really enough for 2 people! (They prefer cash, though, and a service fee was added for credit cards...just an fyi) We will definitely be...

Family friendly. Hometown food with a welcoming, warm atmosphere. Located downtown in Angier, it has a fun location to walk through different shops on your way to breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Not open on Sundays or Mondays. Hours vary throughout the week.

Today was my first time there. I tried one of their specials and it was excellent. I had the grilled flounder and it was extremely flavorful. The sides that I chose were the cucumber and tomato salad (bursting with flavor), and the macaroni salad (also very well done). They also gave me three hush puppies.... I'm newer to the south, and we don't really have these where I'm from lol. These are probably the best I've had. They were crispy, flavorful, not greasy, and not too doughy. Just right. They also have a little bakery section up at the front.

When you walk in, it's kinda misleading about the size of the restaurant. I thought it was smaller than it is, but it has a pretty good amount of seating. They were very busy when I got there (noon on Friday). I'll be back with my family (I met my friend, today).

Parking is a tad rough (it's downtown). You can park on the streets, by the library, by the old train station, or anywhere you find a spot 😜 I'm not used to that, but it...

Called in a to go order for a 12 oz. medium cooked ribeye steak with bake potatoe and a side salad that cost $18.99. BIG MISTAKE folks. DO NOT ORDER THIS MEAL unless you want to eat a very thin, very well done, hard to chew, overall disappointing, steak not to mention a very smelly griddle fried yeast roll that is saturated in some kind of oil. Not sure if the smelly roll is due to rancid oil being used or the griddle needing a serious cleaning...was charged extra for using my debit card. That info would have been nice if it was disclosed when I ordered my food on the phone, but was never asked how I would be paying for my meal and I had to retrieve my bag from the shelf it was sitting on...hummm. Nice way to do business Ed's Family Restaurant. I don't see myself being a repeat customer anytime soon.
