El Guadalajara — Restaurant in Angola

It absolutely pains me to give this review. Was in the mood for birria so I put birria into google maps and this place popped up 4.5 stars and the comment about the best birria drew me in. I've had alot of birria see my other reviews every single one 5 stars. This was almost inedible. First off the salsa for the chips was I don't even know how to describe it, tasteless puree. Chips were warm about the best thing of this meal. Food was ready in 4 mins that should tell you something. Beef was flavour less and id have to say "beef" there was so many huge globules of fat. The consume was ok at best. I ate in the restaurant, the tacos were so soggy underneath the cheese tasted like cream cheese. When the bill came in at 13$ I felt a bit better. At that price you get what you pay for. Perhaps here in the middle of no where this is great birria. I was shocked because the cooks and staff barely spoke English. I would have expected better. I would have rated this place much higher if not for my experience with the waitress at the end of our meal. The food itself was good; however, when the waitress brought me my check, she brought me a receipt for an entirely different amount than what she actually charged my card! The transaction was finalized and I was leaving a cash tip however when I checked my bank acct which I regularly do, she had charged my card almost $15 more than what the receipt she gave me reflected. At that point I made the staff aware of the situation and let them know I was not pleased with that kind of behavior and that it was no different than stealing and I walked out. Long story short, unless you want your bank acct charged fraudulently, I would not go here! She would have gotten the $15 tip she gave herself from my card plus the cash tip I planned to give her as well. People are greedy and this type of fraud needs to be brought to light in reviews like this so it doesn't happen to anyone else! They take for granted that people don't check their accounts before leaving an establishment...

There were basic issues with this visit that should have been handled better by the restaurant. The first concern were the guacamole they serve doesn't match the picture on the menu. I know it's a thing but let's try to be better than McDonald's. The second concern is that we ordered a taco with mushroom, cilantro, and onion. This wasn't on the menu as they didn't have any vegetarian tacos on the menu. They had plenty of items that included mushrooms, so a request for a mushroom taco should have been something easily handled by a restaurant. The request was made.
