Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Angola

02/20/2025: Honestly, my experience with Papa John's in Angola was disappointing and aggravating. Ordered dinner/pizza's at 3:45 pm 02/20/2025 for a 6:15 pm pickup. (The call to the "call center" was equally frustrating so I made sure to get a confirmation #). Got to the store and the young young kid at the counter did some research and then asked his manager what was happening with the order. She proceeded to tell him in a derogatory manner that it was his job to watch incoming orders and put them in where they needed to be put in . The manager never even addressed me. The kid came back and apologized and said that the order was never put in and it would approx. 45 mins for our pizza. I then said "sounds like you are delivering it for free." He then went back to the manager and tried to get this accomplished , but the manager was "too busy" and obviously aggravated . I just said "forget it." I'll get pizza from somewhere else. I know it was a grand opening and they just opened this week, but this is not a mom & pop's new pizza place trying to figure out the system. Papa John's is corporate and their lack of trying to make things right and their rapport...not to mention not even being able to get pizza in a reasonable time ....NEVER AGAIN. PAPA JOHN'S banned! This newer location is the first Papa John’s we’ve had close enough to buy from, which is about a 45 min drive. My husband & I decided we wanted to try it out since it’s been decades since the last time either of us had it. After I ordered my pizza, I got on here and saw how this location had a 3 star rating out of only 28 reviews. I was a little worried I would regret my decision to buy pizza from here, but my experience here was pretty decent. It’s your typical chain restaurant pizza. It’s definitely not our favorite pizza, or even in our top 5 favorites list, but we expected mediocre pizza and that’s what we got. My rating is based off whether or not we got -what we ordered. -got our moneys worth. -edible/tasty food. -good service.

We got exactly what we ordered. The pizza’s were massive and hot. Our Alfredo sauce based pizza was good and I’d probably order it again, and the works pizza we ordered, we would probably never order again, because it wasn’t our cup of tea and lacked the flavor we thought should be there, but it was edible. The drive thru was super convenient and my pizza was done when they said it would be. I was in and out of the drive thru in less than 5 minutes and the girl behind the window was super nice. This is a sad situation as we were so excited to see a papa johns back in angola and looking forward to ordering which Is what we did last night. I called and ordered was told 30 minutes which I thought was totally reasonable, I arrived at about 40 minutes and you could tell it was chaotic but everyone was working and trying it seemed. After about 10 minutes of waiting in line I was finally to the counter and asked for my order after 2 people before me asked to cancel their orders I was getting nervous as I could tell by the chaos it didn't look good for my order.The young lady was apologetic when she told me it would be another 2 HOURS for my order...Unacceptable as I would understand to wait another 15 minutes possibly but who can wait a total of almost 2 hours and 45 minutes at this point. The franchise owners looked really excited in the newspaper for the grand opening. Wonder how exciting it is to disappoint the local community who supports your business? I canceled my order...
