Fazoli's — Restaurant in Ankeny

This morning I received a promotional email from Fazoli's, because I have their app on my IPhone and we've eaten there numerous times in the past. They were advertising a free regular order of spaghetti and meatballs if you order another meal. We had some shopping to do in Ankeny anyway, so off we went. I ordered the Spaghetti and meatballs and Pam, the ravioli and a salad. I ask for extra marinara sauce with the spaghetti, as you can see from the second photo. Both of our meals were clear off the charts in deliciousness, we left totally stuffed and satisfied, actually weren't even hungry for dinner tonight. I've eaten a lot of pasta over the years and have found what I believe are the two best sauces ever. one made by my wife Pam and the other, Fazoli's. I've learned by experience it's a waste to even try it anywhere else. Sorry, I almost forgot to mention how wonderfully hot and tender those delicious breadsticks were. We've always had excellent food and service at this Fazoli's Ankeny location, but today was without a doubt the very best ever, which I attribute in large part to Nathan our server, we found him to be very polite, accommodating and helpful. Pam and I give this Fazoli's location a four thumbs up...

So I went to get some Fazoli’s and this is what I received after asking for a chicken parm no cheese and breadsticks. I received a slop of different noodles with a drizzle of sauce with the most cheese I have ever seen in my LIFE. I had to perform surgery to remove the pounds of cheese. The breadsticks are moist on the outside and somehow still dry on the inside?? Seems like someone just rinsed them off and put them in a bag… don’t get me started about the chicken, taste like they went out back and rummaged through the trash to grab three measly pieces of chicken, rinsed them off in the hand washing only sink and proceeded to SLAP the “chicken” in the cluster of combination noodles. Moral of the story, pay your employees so they actually care about their job. I saw the person handing the order turn around and ask the cook something, the cook replied with “just give it to them” probably not paying attention because his music was too loud on his headphones. Thank you Fazoli’s for a fun and fresh Friday night....

My kids and I went to eat here. We sat and waited for bread sticks. The eventually came out with the meal. And they gave us 2 each. Waited and waited for someone to come around again. So I finally went and asked the young man if they had and breadsticks. He says well we have these. They where hard as a rock. I asked to speak to the manager. I explained the situation. And my frustration with not getting anymore breadsticks. And that we had been waiting for them. As I turn around to go back to my table. The young kid yells. You better watch you mouth old man. And I had a few choice words with him. And got kicked out. If I could give this a zero stars i would. Then tonight my friend posted about how bad the service was. And I thought I better write a review. I will never go back. And hope the place closes. Sad because I have always loved the restuarant threw the years. And although they switched there bread on the sandwiches. I always went back. It's the only one open...
