Very rude worker today. I was in around 10ish to pick up 4 orders for myself and my co-workers. My co-workers ordered separately online, so of course, I didn't bother them with asking what they had ordered as our job is very busy and demanding.
I was directed to pick up the orders, and I spoke with a grouchy man. I told him my co-worker's names, and he showed me where the orders were. My boss and I ordered the same beverage (at the time, I did not know what she ordered as I was directed to pick up whatever was under her name). I asked a simple question due to the drinks not being labeled. I asked him if they were the same, and he stated, "one is caramel, the other vanilla," in an abrupt tone. I had ordered caramel, so I assumed that the vanilla was for the other person.
I asked which one was which, and this rude person stated, "The caramel is the darker one," BUT THEY BOTH LOOKED EXACTLY THE SAME. Listen, Sir, you don't have to talk down to someone like they're stupid. I guess you're not smart enough to realize that they could be mistaken for one another.
While I was still at the counter, he started helping another customer who had just strolled in like she owned the free world. He starts talking to her while I'm trying to make sure that I have everything. It would be terrible if I left someone's order or mixed something up.
He had a very nice co-worker swoop in and help me bag everything up because he was too lazy to do it. Clearly, I was going to have a hard time carrying everything. The young man who helped me was such a gentleman. Maybe this grouch could learn from his younger co-worker.
Also, he gave me the WRONG beverage, because I found out that my boss had ordered caramel. To avoid any confrontation (as I am a new employee), I was stuck with vanilla. If you're going to be rude to customers, at least get their order right!!!!!!!
I suggest that it is time that you leave the customer service industry if you don't like people anymore.
The stars are for the nice young gentleman, and the sandwich was good, except I didn't get Asiago either (extra...
Read moreMy father and I visited this morning around 8 am to place an order for five members of our family. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing—especially considering my father had already had a frustrating interaction when trying to order over the phone.
When we arrived, the woman behind the counter didn’t greet us at all. Instead, she began the interaction with a curt, “What do you want?”—as if we were inconveniencing her by simply being there. My dad started placing our order with two Asiago Parmesan bagels toasted with cream cheese (just the first two of five items), and she abruptly walked away without entering anything into the system or offering any explanation.
Caught off guard by her behavior, I politely said, “We have more items on our list to order,” hoping to prompt some communication or acknowledgment. She offered no response—just continued to look at us with visible annoyance. We went ahead and gave the rest of our order, including mine, my dad’s, and another family member’s.
Eventually, a second employee came over and asked us to repeat everything so he could enter the order correctly—something that should have been handled from the beginning.
At the time of writing this review, we haven’t even made it home with our food, so this feedback has nothing to do with food quality. It’s solely about the shockingly poor customer service. Interactions like this are unacceptable and make it unlikely...
Read moreOur experience at Bruegger’s Bagels on Main St. was rather…unpleasant. The food was splendid and the line cooks did a great job preparing it and following our request of no bacon (dietary restriction in our faith). However, the older gentleman with long hair (I believe Scott was his name), was extremely rude and impatient with our group. At one point, he even screamed as us to “quiet down” to hear a customer’s order but our volume matched that of everyone else’s in the store so we (along with other individuals watching in the store) were very confused as to why he made this comment.
While I would like to give the benefit of the doubt that this was an isolated incident, unfortunately, this has happened time and time again with this particular employee. Our group comes every Sunday around 9AM to enjoy some breakfast after exercising in the early morning and each time Scott takes our order, he is wildly impolite, abrupt, and disrespectful. It is very disappointing as our customer service experience reflects poorly on Bruegger’s Bagels in Ann Arbor, a city so diverse and welcoming to everyone that enters, but apparently not in this particular establishment.
I’m sincerely disappointed in how we were treated today. It especially hurts as my family owns a small business in Ann Arbor and we always select Bruegger’s Bagels as our choice of breakfast before opening, however, we will not be visiting this...
