Einstein Bros. Bagels — Restaurant in Anna

I have to admit I’m disappointed in the new location here in Anna. I ordered a basic sausage, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich and was given a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich instead. I didn’t want to gripe because I like bacon too and was okay with the error on the order, but was caught off guard at the fact that when I took the wrapping off the bagel sandwich nothing was warm or seemed to had been recently cooked like you would normally receive for a breakfast sandwich. The bacon was precooked, a cheese slice placed on top not even melted, the egg was already precooked (again not warm), and the bagel was a plain bagel with no extra love given to it that you would like for a breakfast bagel sandwich. I went ahead and ate the sandwich since I’d already paid for it and I don’t believe in wasting food, but I had a similar experience with the breakfast at Scooter’s Coffee Shop next door and hadn’t returned to that place since so I guess it will be the same for this place also..at least the Anna locations. Crazy enough the cashier at Einstein’s who took my order also took my order at Scooter’s so that was ironic also lol.

Anyway, I say all this to say that if they can mess up a basic breakfast sandwich I can only imagine how the other menu items turn out. I can bet all of the $6.30 I spent on that bagel sandwich today that I make better ones at home. Try at your...

Update: I went in the following Monday and as I was going out the door, after ordering a bagel with cream cheese and an apple strudel, I commented to a lady, I’m assuming the manager, about how busy they were already and the mistake on Saturday. Not to get a correction, but that it was a delicious surprise. She immediately apologized and said let me get you a cream cheese strawberry. It was SOOOO yummy! Both the apple strudel and the strawberry cream cheese are new favorites.

I went in on Saturday. They were super busy, but the staff was very efficient and the customers were patient. The only issue was that instead of the strawberry cream cheese pastry, I got an apple strudel. It was very good so I was not disappointed. I visited Einstein Bagels on Friday, 9/27, and ordered a chocolate chip muffin, but they gave me a blueberry muffin instead. I didn’t realize the mistake until I was already at work. I decided to give them a second chance on Saturday, 9/28, and yet again they messed up my order! I specifically asked for no cheese on my bagel, but I got home to find it covered in cheese. The employees seemed to be having a great time in the back, but they need to focus more on listening and reading the orders correctly.
