Capriotti's just opened a few days ago. As you'd expect, the service is still coming up to speed a little bit, but the food was amazing.
Everyone I interacted with was friendly, helpful and patient. The gal who took my order was learning the menu along with me, but she took the time to ensure my order was correct and to my liking.
Mine was a to-go order, so I really cannot say much about the atmosphere, but the place looked inviting and comfortable. Like so many other fast restaurants, I noticed the space was built like an echo chamber. Every sound carried around the dining room creating an unpleasant din that would make it difficult to converse with others sitting with you at a table. Chipotle, Crisp n Green and other places have the same issue and I can't help but wonder if it is intentional to keep customers from lingering and occupying tables.
The parking lot is small with one entrance on Main Street, and another entrance on a side street. Traffic on Main Street is not always patient and forgiving, so that entrance can be a challenge to use. The side street is in rough shape like so many streets in the area. Beware the pot holes. Despite the wheel traps, the side street entrance may be easier to use than the Main Street entrance.
I'm new to Capriotti's so I haven't explored much of the menu yet. What I have tried (the chicken cheesesteak) was very, very good, stacked high with lean, juicy and well seasoned chicken meat. Despite being fried, it wasn't oily. I saw three protein options for the cheesesteak: beef, chicken and impossible protein. Many customization options are available including grilled onions, peppers (hot and mild), tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, mustard, ketchup and more. I think you can even get marinara sauce. Not many cheese options though. Notably absent is cheese whiz if you're hoping for that authentic Philly experience, but American cheese is available which melts very nicely (due to the inclusion of sodium citrate). They also have hot and cold subs with turkey and pastrami options and I think there is a meatball sandwich, too (which explains the marinara option on the cheesesteak).
My understanding is you can have them "gut" the roll: they'll hollow out the bread if you want to reduce the carbs and calories. I didn't try that option, and still the meat-to-bread ratio was very high. Extra and double meat options are available, but I'm not sure the roll could hold that much!
I am looking forward to my next visit (which will be very soon). Welcome to the neighborhood Capriotti's.

Those potholes have indeed been filled. Quick work, Capriotti's! Today was my third visit, by the way. The...

We were genuinely excited to see a new spot open up in Anoka that wasn't another chain restaurant we're all too familiar with. Capriotti’s was completely new to us, and as a fan of a good sandwich—especially Jersey Mike’s—I was curious (and a little skeptical) to see how it would compare.
I’m not a food critic by any means, but I know what I like. My go-to at Jersey Mike’s is the #13 Italian, so naturally, I ordered Capriotti’s Italian sub on my first visit to compare. Let me just say—I was not disappointed. The bread was soft yet sturdy enough to hold a generous portion of ingredients, the deli meats were fresh and full of flavor, and the seasoning was absolutely spot-on.
Our excitement didn’t stop there. We ended up coming back three days in a row and tried several other sandwiches: The Bobbie, the Cheesesteak, the French Dip, and the Club. Every single one was amazing—flavorful, well-made, and clearly crafted with quality ingredients.
The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. For a newly opened location, the place ran like a well-oiled machine and was spotless every time we visited. The only minor issue we noticed was the parking lot—it could use a little work, but that’s a small detail and likely already on their radar.
We're thrilled that Capriotti’s has come to Anoka. It's a fantastic addition to the area, and we highly recommend giving it a try if...
Read moreI’ve eaten at Capriotti’s in Arizona a couple of times and enjoyed it and was therefore excited when I heard a location had opened in Anoka. While Anoka isn’t particularly close to me, I decided to make the 30 minute drive and was glad I did.
It is located in what might have previously been a bank, but they did a nice job with the remodel and it was clean and modern looking inside.
I had the Hot Bobby sandwich which I highly recommend. It’s basically Thanksgiving dinner on bread. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry and mayo on a sub roll. I got the small size which is still a big sandwich and it was very tasty. Their turkey isn’t the typical sliced cold cut type of meat, rather they use shredded or pulled roasted turkey and it makes a difference. The sandwich may sound different but the ingredients just work well together.
They are also known for the Cheesesteaks and I saw one at an adjacent table which looked great, but I haven’t personally tried one yet.
I will definitely be making the 30 minute drive again soon.
Highly recommended. Get...
