Was a HUGE fan of this place... I've ordered a lot of times from this restaurant... The food was always fresh for me, except for the last two times... This time was nothing like this most recent time, though... I am not sure what happened but I had ordered my usual. Pineapple rice with chicken, mango Avacado roll, Edamame, and Miso Soup, although this time I also ordered General Tso chicken with white rice... Since there was a deal with the miso soup, I ended up getting two, along with the edamame... I ordered Friday night for delivery.. long story short, I've never felt so sick in my life.. Even with eating leftovers.. I always eat leftovers from there. It's chicken and rice like come on.. or it's just miso soup... I didn't think anything of it... That wasn't the case this time. I came home from work and heated the food up.. about 2 hours or less after eating the food, I started to feel like complete shit.. Belching, and then all of a sudden, it just wouldn't stop. I have never threw up so much in my life, from 6 pm to the next day at 2 pm... All I did was throw up back to back... Here it is, Thursday, and I am still sick.. I threw up again last night.. So, despite starting to feel somewhat okay in the morning... I don't want to blame the restaurant, but I know that it was from their food. It's just very disappointing, because I've been ordering from here for a while and never changed my routine, so this is going to be the last time I ever order from...
Read moreWow. If I could leave negative stars I really would prefer that. I went in for lunch with my service dog which I require for medical purposes. He is a highly trained service animal. The woman who met me at the front counter yelled at me and said no pets allowed. I (in a friendly manner) explained he is not a pet but a medically required service dog. She yelled at me some more that no dogs are allowed in restaurants and it’s state law. I (again in a friendly manner) explained it’s actually Federal law that he is allowed anywhere I go and is required to be with me. She yelled some more about no pets allowed in restaurants and did not seem to want to listen to me. I asked if I could order something to go since she seemed to be having an angry meltdown. She said I must “order fast and go outside and she will bring it out” to me. As I glanced over the menu, she told me to hurry up and get out so I “don’t upset other customers “..... there were no other customers and she was the only one who was being upsetting. I asked about a price of something I wanted and she blatantly said “you can’t afford that, hurry up!” I then told her I did not appreciate her close-minded attitude and walked out, then filed a report with the police who stated that I am allowed, by Law, to bring my service animal anywhere I go. I will not only NEVER return to this awful place but will tell everyone I know about how they mistreated a clearly disabled individual....
Read moreI'm the Assistant GM at a local restaurant in the Valley and I've worked in the industry for 30 years (including a year at Mannen Japanese Restaurant in Ridgefield, CT, when I was in High School - 1992/93 - and I believe they're still open to this day)...
My honest opinion, although the venue was small, the food was GREAT!! However, the service needs a TON of work!!
One of my BIGGEST pet peeves is feeling rushed out of a place that you've dropped $100+ (in less than an hour, none-the-less). Especially, when the kitchen isn't even closed yet...
Our check was dropped off at the table twice (the first time wasn't by our waiter) and I said, "We're not done yet" (meaning we were considering another drink or dessert).... Then our waiter tried to drop the check off again, only a few minutes later, and I repeated myself.
As a person who's made a career working in the hosptality industry, there's nothing worse than feeling rushed out of restaurant when you're there to spend money!! The VERY LEAST a server/bartender can ask a customer, before they drop the check, is the following: "Can I interest you in any coffee, tea, dessert, or possibly another cocktail?" If the answer is, "No/We're good", then that's the time to drop the check!!
Long story short, I would recommend take-out from this venue, but definitely not...
