We visited Dallas Famous Chicken while vacationing in NC. We wanted to try something local and there were lots of people there, so we could tell it was a local favorite. The food was great, the service was friendly, and it had a nice, easy atmosphere. Even the other patrons were happy and friendly. And the muffins were delicious! We ordered a bunch to go and enjoyed them over the next few days. This is an authentic, been here forever with no updates, genuine hometown restaurant. I hope they never remodel and make this place look like some kind of sterile chain restaurant. The food's appearance wasn't all fancied up to look like some kind of pretty chain restaurant commercial either. But the taste... this is where they put all their money... quality ingredients and good size portions. The only thing that makes me angry about this food is that I'm too full to get a second helping. Read moreCleanliness 3/5. The tables and the seats were sticky with syrup of some sort and my cup was dirty upon arrival. Had to ask for another one while the cashier appeared bothered by the request.
Service 3/5. With 15 minutes before lunch officially started I asked if I could place my order right then. Was promptly told to "go sit down and wait" before he looked past me and asked for the guys order behind me.
Price 4/5. Won't break the bank but ain't cheap either for mostly serving "fried things".
