My wife and I went to Rudy's 10th Anniversary Party yesterday, 11/11/23 and we enjoyed another fantastic experience! What a well organized and fun event! As usual, the food, service, and beverages were spectacular. As we've always observed, the staff are friendly, appear to be happy, and work together as a great team. As you see from our other reviews, my wife and I have lived in Apex for over 26 years and Rudy's is hands down the best place we've been in the RDU area!
Another great experience. My wife and I went in yesterday, 2/15/23 with a focus on trying some of the new items on the menu. The Chipotle Bacon Cheddar dip with corn chips, celery and carrot sticks and the Chicken and Shrimp entree were "Excellent!" Pippa, the bartender, was her usual "Outstanding" self!
Since our last two reviews below, my wife and I have continued to go to Rudy's once or twice a week. Our last visit on 9/15/22 was another "Outstanding" experience! A tribute to a great place like Rudy's is when you have more than one "Superb" appetizer, salad, sandwich, entree, or dessert (the Lemon Creme cake is awesome) over a long period of time. For my wife and I, Rudy's is like the series "Cheers" where Matt (the bartender who knows us as two Va Tech alumni who like to talk sports and a little "smack") is like the character Sam Malone (Angelique and Pippa, the other two bartenders, are also great). In addition to the great food and service, Rudy's is a great experience!
My wife and I went in yesterday, 1/12/22 and enjoyed another great experience! The bartender, Matt, is always upbeat and provides consistently great service. Got the gumbo and a slice of Oreo cheesecake (they have a baker who brings in different kinds of cheesecake). Both were "Outstanding." One thought/suggestion for folks who comment on slow (or lack of) service: perhaps consider the very challenging labor force environment that restaurants are facing today before posting a negative comment. We've never had a bad service experience at Rudy's.
My wife and I are "seasoned citizens" and have lived in Apex for over 24 years. We haven't been able to get out and about much recently due to the virus and helping care for our two grandkids. When were able to get out over the past two weeks and went to Rudy's three different times, the food and experience were "Outstanding." They have a chef (we've seen her twice), but although she's not always there the food is "Excellent" which is proof the kitchen staff is well trained. My wife and got the quesadilla, the portobello mushroom veggie wrap, and the blackened chicken wrap - all were superb! The french fries were exceptional. Especially noteworthy is the bartender (believe his name is Matt); he is high energy, pleasant, relates well with the customers, and manages the bar and surrounding tables in a OUTSTANDING manner. The staff appears to be happy and enjoying what they're doing - kudos to the management team! Rudy's is now our "go to"...
Read moreI'm not sure what is going on at this place the last few weeks but their customer service is at an all time LOW with the hosts. Those little girls are there with no real experience and it shows. They don't know how to speak to people, provide at least decent customer service and really walk around like they are clueless as to what they were hired to do. Even the foreign management woman could use some customer service training. The downfall of these small businesses and restaurants will be hiring these young kids who are extremely clueless and cannot function without someone holding their hand!!!! Pay your employees more so you can get some REAL, experienced help!!! And the add, I requested an update on the status of the order I was picking up. Instead of giving me an update, the clueless little girl chose to take the time to take a few selfies instead and socialize with the other hosts....IN MY FACE! How is that upon my arrival, the order was being bagged, then one girl told me the kitchen was backed up and I should leave the order (after waiting 10 mins already)? Please make it make sense!
TO THE "OWNER" WHO CHOSE TO REPLY, DONT TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU DIDNT WITNESS!!! I HAVE BEEN TO THAT ESTABLISHMENT SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PLEASANT. I CAME IN THAT DAY RESPECTFUL UNTIL I WAS TREATED RUDE AND LIED TO FOR THE THIRD TIME! IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT I WAS THERE TO DO OR DELIVER OR IF I WAS A PAYING CUSTOMER( IVE BEEN ONE BEFORE BUT WILL NEVER AGAIN), YOUR STAFF WERE JUST AS RUDE AND OUT OF POCKET AS YOU‼️ THE REASON I WAS THERE IS IRRELEVANT! SO WHAT I WAS WORKING DOOR DASH, PART TIME SO DONT ACT LIKE I DONT HAVE A REAL, FULL TIME JOB AND ABSOLUTELY NEED TO DELIVER FROM YOUR RESTAURANT BECAUSE I DONT. JUST FOR YOUR INFORMATION, I CONTACTED DOOR DASH IMMEDIATELY AFTER LEAVING YOUR RESTAURANT TO TELL THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND ASKED TO BE REMOVED FROM PICKING UP ORDERS THERE MYSELF!!!!...THATS THE REAL TEA!
WHILE YOU WERE LOOKING AT YOUR CAMERAS, I HOPE YOU DIDNT IGNORE HOW LONG I WAITED AT YOUR RESTAURANT AND TRIED TO BE PATIENT AND POLITE AND SIMPLY REQUEST UPDATES. DONT IGNORE YOUR STAFF VISIBLY CLUESLESS AS TO WHAT THEYRE SUPPOSED TO DO. DONT IGNORE THAT I ASKED FOR AN UPDATE FROM YOUR STAFF AND THEY STOPPED TO SOCIALIZE AND TAKE SELFIES INSTEAD, THAT SHOULD HAVE CLEARLY BEEN VISIBLE ON YOUR CAMERA TOO!!!!! CHECK YOURSELF AND YOUR STAFF, DONT TRY TO CHECK ME.
MAYBE YOU DONT UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF BUSINESS, BUT ANYONE WHO WALKS IN THOSE DOORS IS A CUSTOMER AND SHOULD BE...
Read moreHorrible place to take a family. Went to take my infant to change his diaper. There wasn’t a visible changing station.
Had to end up changing him in the booth. Doing so rude red headed waitress comes loudly talking telling not to change my baby there. I told her they didn’t have one in their bathrooms. No one wants to change their baby in the booth of a restaurant!! She continues to tell me that they have them in both restrooms being rude and disrespectful towards me. I went back to her to tell her I did find after looking behind a things. That it really needs to be in a place where it’s a neutral location to be find easily. She is disrespectful and unprofessional person that just wants to point her finger down on a mother. Telling me she had kids. That’s she doesn’t own the bar. That this conversation is pointless that I know I was wrong. That shouldn’t have done it.
Long story of the matter is she could have handled the situation differently. I work in sales and customer service. I would have nicely said ma’am we actually have changing tables in the rest rooms. Let me show. It’s really not hard to be a good person and actually do some critical thinking. Say hey maybe she didn’t see it. Let me show her. This situation is just disappointing because they do have good food. Service has never been anything to brag about. Everyone has always been straight faced there but whatever as long as they aren’t rude. This ginger headed middle aged Caucasian woman that is a waitress there needs to learn how to speak to people and use critical thinking skills.
Edit 2/28 I wasn’t rude her at all. Tried to explain I couldn’t find it in the restroom when I went back there because it was behind stuff in the restroom.
Owner replying saying they have kids day with balloons 🎈 worse place for kids I have seen. Groups of drunk men huddled by the restroom area blocking the way to the restrooms. As they people and gamble on the games they have in the corner. Really not family place which is fine because it’s pub. Can’t expect...
