A few months ago I quit coming to Rubens because they raised their prices and hardly any chicken on the soft tacos. Before plenty of chicken and really good. I went around 5:30 to try it again and yes they failed again. This is my second review since the last time I ate here. I don’t know how it could be a four and a half star now. Taco Tuesday used to be packed when I used to eat here. Only two booths were being used at 5:30 not even the regular girls working either. Again hardly any chicken in my tacos more onion than anything. I knew Rubens would lose business after raising prices and less food. I threw my second taco in the trash. Great job owner of Rubens. Today is July/21/24 around 6:00 I started just getting taquitos because way back there prices went up and less food. I ordered only taquitos with guacamole on the side and you get these very small cups that are only enough for two taquitos. They charge for extra guacamole not much more but it’s just the principle of this situation. The owner of this Rubens is a very cheap person. I did quit coming here a long time ago but my wife likes the taquitos. Well have to find a restaurant that the owner isn’t so cheap and at least give you enough guacamole for five taquitos. Rubens went to crap a long time ago and the waitresses are no longer there that worked here ever since the prices went up. They either quit or got laid off. Great job to the owners cheap cheap cheap. lol oh ya canceled my order and it’s definitely not as crowded as it used to be. Well today is September/1/24 went in for taquitos to go for pick up. Maybe enough guacamole for two taquitos that come with it yes I did buy extra guacamole got home saw how much guacamole there was had to go back and get more guacamole. Feel sorry for the workers because at this price 11.31 with a 3.00 dollar tip tip’s will stop and probably quit eating here. This owner is a cheap cheap owner. Hope he makes money on taco Tuesday lol. Pretty sad when I have to go back and get more guacamole for my taquitos after getting home and this is after buying extra guacamole lol. Next time I’ll check it before I give them money. Last week was okay. I did notice that the cook wasn’t to happy when I came back for more guacamole....

Ordered super nachos after a long hiatus since my last visit. When they were under the old name.
Prices went up significantly, an order of super nachos is now $13. A bit steep. When I asked why such an increase, the waiter told me "they are so much bigger than before". As they came out onto the counter in my order to go. They are not, same size as previous, I immediately asked another female employee behind the counter the same question. She hadn't heard my last answer from him. She told me they were using "higher quality meats now. Much, much better meats".
It's not, it's still the same, that's not a bad thing: I have been a regular since before this place changed into the name it had before it was Ruben's. A patron since 2004. The food has been consistently good since then, and still is.

In an almost empty restaurant upon arrival we were told to pick a seat, and almost immediately had our drink orders taken and we received them rather quickly. Our waitress said she would be return to take our order after placing the menus down. So we waited and we waited. Another couple sat down behind us, had their drink orders taken, received their drinks. And we were still waiting. Waitress came back took their order, ran to the the bar area to place the order, while we waited. She then attended to another table, while we again waited. Finally after waving her down while attending to the other table she Finally came to take our order.
