Friend and I (two Seniors) decided to have lunch at OCA Mocha today at around 2:15 pm on a Sunday afternoon. It was our first time to eat there and a first time to eat out inside a restaurant after the COVID. We were surprised by the services that we received after we have read good reviews of this restaurant. I want to mention here is that the restaurant was not busy at the time. A young woman appeared have already finished her order, standing leaning against the glass window in front of the cashier counter talking to the cashier. We were standing behind her waiting for the cashier to recognize us to order our food. We must stood there approximately 5 minutes when the cashier and the women kept in engaging in their conversation. We finally got to order our food. Before I can remove my credit card out of the scanning machine, the machine asked me how much tip I wanted to pay. Thought from a minute, I hit “none” instead of 20%, 18% or 15%. To me, I pay tip based on the good services but not before and clearly it is a self service restaurant. Must because of the “no tip” choice that I made had caused the following poor services:
I have been going to Oca Mocha ever since it opened. It’s a lovely place; the workers are kind and the coffee is so tasty. I’ve been enjoying the Praline White Mocha recently. It is absolutely delicious. A few times they have had live entertainment which is a pleasure to listen to while enjoying the drinks. They have a selection of vegetarian and vegan options for customers which is excellent especially for someone who has a severe allergy. They also have an art gallery full of paintings from local artists, games, and free creative classes that anyone can attend. However, I would suggest a more organized system for taking orders. There have been several times where employees have forgotten or mixed up orders and drink sizes. Customers often get confused which drink is theirs. I would recommend adding customer names and order numbers on their drinks and food. Also, employees should call a customer’s order number louder or bring the order to the customer if they are sitting down. The last thing I will mention is the music. The music was really loud and kind of out of character for a coffee shop. I would recommend having a playlist with coffee shop themed music that is ambient, calming, and work friendly, since lots of customers are working on assignments. The volume should be set low, especially for customers sitting near the speakers. I look forward to...
Read moreThis place is so cute!!!! I was in the area because I have two family members with appointments at the Baltimore Field Office that were 3 hours apart and wanted somewhere to chill in between. This is the best place.
While waiting my brothers and I played Jenga that the cafe offers and also monopoly which is this super cute specialized version for the area, Arbutus/Baltimore.
This cafe is so cute and quiet - a great place to get some work done, have a small meeting or chill with your family. If I lived nearby this would definitely be a regular place I would come to get work done.
To drink, I ordered something on seasonal media specifically their Rose B. Chai (I forgot the second word 😅) which a mix of chai and rosemary. And dare I say it’s the PERFECT FUSION!!! It’s so good! at first I was a little skeptical thinking it shouldn’t work but it does. Now unfortunately my mom didn’t approve and she has a more of a sweet tooth than I do so maybe different people have their different opinion but I loved it. There’s also an orange creamsicle drink that’s on the menu that I really want to try.I didn’t have time to order food but the prices are super reasonable like less than $10.
I really liked this place and next time I’m in the area I will...
