Taste Tea — Restaurant in Maryland

This is one of the best establishments to ever grace downtown Arbutus. I’ve been visiting Downtown Arbutus for 20+ years and I’ve always felt they needed a place like this. The atmosphere is perfect for what they serve and for the people who enjoy these type of drinks. Whether they’re busy or not, have 1, 2 or 3 people working, they get drinks out fast and efficiently.

My wife and I DoorDash this area and get a lot of orders. The staff are always on point with every order, even at when the store is packed with people.

We finally got to try some ourselves tonight and we were not disappointed at all. Perfect Milk Tea with Black Boba. I got the Taro, which I’ve had at places before, and this has been the best I have ever had. Easily. My wife got the Jasmine Green Tea and I tried it myself and although it’s not usually my kind of flavor, I liked it. Very unique flavor. My wife loved it and said that she had never had one so unique and rich before. The Boba were perfect consistency and flavor.

I also want to point out the cups. They have a very cool seal on the top to prevent spills. It not only comes in handy for when we deliver their Teas through DoorDash, but I like the way we were able to keep our cups sealed until we got home. It’s a very nice little touch to an excellent product. You just punch that fat straw through and you’re ready to go!!!

I wish I could give this place more stars as their bubble tea and drinks are absolutely delicious, and they do have an awesome selection of different things to try on their drink menu. I've been here multiple times and I'll likely still come back, but depending on the day/time you go, be prepared as you could be waiting a LONG time for your order.

Last time I went around 1/2pm on a Friday, and it literally took me 45 minutes to order and get my drink. There was a line of around 8 people in front of me and several others inside who already had drinks. So I did not expect it to take THAT long and I waited when I should have just left.

It seems to me that they need to hire some additional staff to work during their peak/busy times, as I've only ever seen one person working there alone, and I've never made it out of there in less than 15/20 minutes. It would also be nice if they offered more snacks and sweets options as well. It looks like all they have is a couple slices of unappetizing pre-packaged cheesecake or pie. Overall they do have yummy drinks and are generous with the amount of boba in my tea which I enjoy, but I'd definitely visit more often if it was more...

The bubble tea and jellies are delish. I ask for a milk tea with boba and no sugar. I like the games especially the fishy game. Free wifi which is great. I like how different servers have helped my son pick a drink several times since he doesn’t enjoy boba. In general, it is a nice local spot I visit to support this local business. However there are several major things that need some thought.

Nowhere are food allergies or ingredients noted, which makes dining difficult for families like ours. I like how some servers have shown us the tub so we can read the ingredient label and see if something is marked as gluten free. People with celiac beware at Taste Tea.

There is often a long line and a long wait, especially when servers stop to chat with friends instead of making the drinks for the ppl waiting. There is one person only, which puts the onus on them to ring ppl up and also make the drinks.

I can’t ever stay long because it is a small space and sometimes when I’ve gone in the music videos are blasting or there’s lots of people inside. I dream of sitting and working there like I would a cafe, but it is way too loud for me to accomplish...
