Sorrento of Arbutus — Restaurant in Maryland

Earlier in the year Sorrentos was incredible! The pizza was amazing, and the customer service was impeccable. To the point they would grab my order then greet me. My first time back in 3 months. I placed my order online at around 5:26 to be ready at 6:15. I walk into the establishment and immediately the older gentleman (I’m assuming the manager) stares me down. I get to the counter, grab my soda and the girl there was nice and told me “it isn’t ready yet I’ll let you know”. Still the man staring the entire time. I go sit down in the waiting area and person after person walks in & out, in & out. At 7:05 the same guy walks past me without even asking if I need help, I’m only sitting there with a 2 liter ya know. He then proceeds to hang a poster, then almost walk past again until I asked him “when will the cheese pizza be ready?” He goes around the corner and calls my name, it’s been done. Not only did no one call my number, no one even acknowledged my existence. The pizza was cold, barely any cheese, or sauce. Just a terrible experience all around. Would not buy pizza here as it is usually burned thin and tasteless, but they do have good root-beer and lemon-aid drinks if you do not mind the slow service. The people that work there seem to work hard though and are fun to watch work while you are waiting for your turn to make an order. They have small entertainments like candy & toy vending machines to help bide your time and a nice road console and pinball machines that are not overly loud but are worth playing and going into the place for playing especially on a hot day when you need some shade and physical rest. The people are not usually friendly in any way and the manager sometimes makes a fuss over anyone wishing to use their MasterCard or Visa card as they get charged a dollar or something to offer that service each time. They do have a small one person restroom that anyone can use and it has a sink to wash-up before eating as well. I do not remember the air-conditioner working too very well though, but maybe that is because of the heat that comes off of the stoves and the door that is often open to the outside, at times this is for people in line who...

Dining in is your best bet with this place. We've ordered out twice, and both times had terrible experiences. They have a beautiful website, so you would think they could handle online orders, but they can't. We had to wait an extra 40 minutes for our food because they "didn't receive" our online order. Yet, somehow, they had already taken the online payment from our bank account. We had to show them our bank account in order for them to honor this. When we finally left with our order, we realized they had forgotten to give us our fries and onion rings! (Good thing we checked before driving home!) We had to wait even longer for them to make those as well. If they could have refunded us, we would have left from the beginning, but they couldn't locate our order, and therefore had no way to get our money back. The food is okay if you want run-of-the-mill subs and pizza. Unfortunately, we're crossing yet another Arbutus restaurant off of our list.
