Wow. Simply awesome. This place is a hidden gem in Arbutus that really needs a lot of exposure in the area and beyond. My wife and I were introduced to this lovely place by the employees of Chesapeake Bank of Maryland around the corner. They were right on the mark. We have been there for breakfast several times now and also have ordered burgers and fries for take out and have never been disappointed. The food speaks for itself. The owner and help are first rate. I'm simple, I get the eggs, home fries and sausage breakfast, and my wife gets the catfish and grits. No competition here, best fried catfish and grits in the entire Baltimore area. This week we also tried the chipped beef and gravy on crostini as recommended by the bank employees. That sauce could be used in a number of dishes. We suggested a name change to "Next Level" Chipped Beef and Gravy", because that is what it is. They won't give up the recipe for the sauce. Once you try any number of their dishes, you will make it a point to return and I am sure you will bring friends. Great job to all at Our Recipes Cafe. See...
Read moreBecause of the extended hours I have recently been working I don't have time to fix my breakfast or lunch and if I am going to spend my money I want good quality food. my 1st experience was great so I decided to order again a few more times but when I reorder the crunchy French toast the last time the fruit that came with it was old and I decided to get the lox bagel today, I specifically asked for tomatoes and when I got back to work no tomatoes so I called to inform them of my order and I was told to come and pick up some tomatoes and I explained that I specifically asked for tomatoes and I would have to drive from my job and I wanted a new order so they agreed. When I get back to work with the new order it was like it was fixed with an attitude. There was more tomatoes than lox, the cream cheese was spread like mayo on a sandwich and barely any capers. Is this good service???????NOOOOO!!!! and this type of nonsense will make me never come back, I don't like wasting my money...
Read moreWe saw the menu online and thought we'd give this place a try. We were surprised to find this "Gem" located in the heart of the small downtown Arbutus area. Parking is a little limited but available. NOT wheelchair accessible. Menu was a combination of breakfast and lunch items. We had croissant sandwiches and really enjoyed them. I had the SMALLEST cup of my favorite soup, "Cream of Crab," (I get it everywhere it's available). I will say the creaminess was good but lacked flavor. It was served lukewarm. I was really disappointed. We noticed some other menu items being delivered; we want to go back and try them: (Chicken & Waffles, Crunchy French Toast). It's a really cute little place tucked away in Arbutus that's worth a try. Service is a little limited. The hours of operation are limited, so please check.
