The "chicken parmesan" is simply shredded chicken mixed into spaghetti. I have never been to an Italian restaurant that serves it in that matter. It was absolutely disgusting. The cashier offered to give me something in place of it, took my order, then went to get the manager to approve it. The manager very rudely, however, informed me they've served it that way for 21 years so it was my loss; if I wanted something different I could pay for it. So I paid $6.50 for a dinner I just threw away. Rude service and mediocre food at best. Drive a little further to the city and get real Italian and better service.
**To your response, adding that you really should take chicken parmesan off the menu description as it is by definition: Chicken parmigiana, or chicken parmesan, is a dish that consists of breaded chicken breast covered in tomato sauce and mozzarella, parmesan, or provolone cheese. What you are offering is simply spaghetti with shredded chicken (my did not contian slices. When I questioned if I got what I ordered, it took two girls to stare at it and say "oh, there, there's a piece of chicken"). It should read spaghetti with choice of meatballs or "sliced" chicken. The average out-of-town customer would have no way of knowing they weren't actually ordering a small portion (I wasn't expecting an Olive Garden size portion for the price) of actual...
Read moreThis restaurant definitely has a local feel to it (which is not a bad thing). The owner is a bit brusk, but I wasn't put off by her, but I can see how she could run someone the wrong way. We ordered pizza which was delicious. I ordered the chicken parmesan which I did not care for as they serve it with chicken pieces vs. a patty or breast, BUT it was only $6.50. I just think they should describe it more accurately as it is served in such a unique fashion. We also ordered the pepperoni bread which was about the best we ever had and I'll definitely be back for that alone! The prices are very fair and the service was fast. I definitely...
Read moreThis place is amazing! Super food and super service.
Coming from out of state with family, we stopped in after a trip to Sauder Village on account of the great reviews. There’s a Mancino’s in our home town, but it pales in comparison to Rita’s.
She was incredibly personable, and it is a rare treat to encounter folks who meet their customers with such genuine enthusiasm. The food was excellent - great pizza, great fries, and even better grinders. The atmosphere was welcoming, warm, and friendly, and there is no doubt in my mind that we would return to Archbold, OH just to eat here...
