To kick this off let me disclose I may not hear everything but I have a nose like bloodhound and the minute I walked in the door I wanted to eat at this place. it was lunch, my first time here, and I could sit anywhere.
The nicest guy got me a seat and went for my usual black coffee and ice water. The coffee was made fresh when I ordered it and for those who relish actual black coffee, you will like this one.
I ordered bacon wrapped dates because I like dates and I had never seen them presented like this. Not for everybody, a little like a desert, but the bacon is actually subtle and whatever that drizzle is makes them messy and wonderful.
The waiter, Marco, made some recommendations, but I asked him to bring me the dish he loved the very most here. He was not so sure about this, but I assured him I frankly eat almost anything, I prefer it not be meatballs but everything else is open. He actually got really excited and took off for the kitchen.
Mother of God, what a great result.
He brought me the Lasagna -[ yea I know - every Italian restaurant has this and it's always good. Well not like this!
I recently commented on a photographer I met. I said there is a difference between people who take good pictures and a real photographer. Well, there is a big difference between good cooks and chefs that are artists in the kitchen. You will enjoy the work of both but the true artist gives you an experience you savor and remember to use as your basis of caparison forever.
I took the first bite and realized I did not want to swallow it; I wanted to move it around in my mouth and experience an arresting flavor medley. I did this for three bites and then stopped, drank some water, waited, and did it all over again. With each bite, after I swallowed it, I waited, and an amazing flavor surrounded my toung and then eased is way up into the back of my nose.
I need to warn you here that a large part of enjoying great food is being able to smell the subtle aromas. If you have an average nose you may well not have this same experience. However, you will still truly enjoy this...
Read moreMy husband used to love going to this restaurant at least once a week. We like to support small business owners but we aren’t supporting this business anymore since 6/14/2024 by the owners decision. My husband was eating at the bar area and I came in to say goodbye to him because I was leaving town for the weekend. Since we are experiencing triple digit temperatures these days I brought our two medical alert dogs inside with me (both are legally certified). The host asked me if I wanted to seat at the patio because I had the dogs with me. I thanked him for the offer and explained him that I wasn’t staying because I just needed a few minutes to talk to my husband. He was kind and was okay with me doing that. The owner on the other hand as soon as he saw me walking towards my husband started yelling at me and mentioned that dogs weren’t allowed in his establishment. I tried to tell him that I wasn’t staying and that the dogs were service dogs but he didn’t even let me talk because he kept on yelling at me “GET OUT OF HERE NOW” and as I was keep on trying to explain myself he got louder screaming “I SAID NOW” So I realized that it was pointless trying to show him the dogs certification card. It was a very embarrassing moment to say the least. So, I just kissed my husband and left to avoid a bigger scene. This man is not a friendly person at all, he never acknowledge us even though we were regulars customers. The only time this man is calm and quiet is around 3:00 p.m. when he starts drinking his vodka at the bar. He doesn’t represent a small business owner at all....
Read moreCaffe Boa has to be one of the most underrated restaurants in town. Nestled in an unassuming strip mall, it's anything but unassuming. My party and I started with the meat & cheese board and the crostini board. The meat & cheese board featured an array of fresh offerings like prosciutto, salami, smoked gouda, dates, kalamata olives, and mixed nuts. The crostini board is sure to please any palate with 4 inventive flavor combinations including a mouth-watering Genoa salami with smoked gouda and drizzled honey. My 2 dinner partners and I ate every crumb on both boards, including the garnish. For the main course, we ordered the Chianti Braised Beef, Fettucine Salsiccia, and Tortellini (that was mine). The garlic cream sauce in the tortellini was delicate and flavorful. The broccoli, mushrooms, and peas were cooked, but not soggy. It was difficult to choose entrees as everything on the menu sounded delicious. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu. One serving can easily feed 3 people. It was huge! It wasn't the best tiramisu I've eaten, but it wasn't bad either. The appetizer and main courses easily made up for any shortcomings the dessert may have had. Even if you live across town, eating at Caffe Boa is worth the drive. The service was excellent and the restaurant itself is very clean and tastefully decorated. We ate on the patio next to a gorgeous fountain. There's also a fireplace for those cooler nights. Just a lovely place with lovely staff and...
