So it was my husband and I, first time coming to this restaurant. We were actually looking for a different restaurant but decided to just come here. We were able to sit wherever we wanted. We had one waitress come and take our drink order and another take our meal order and within 5mins a guy came and brought us our food. Fast service, is that good or bad? My husband and I both ordered the regular breakfast that comes with biscuits and sausage gravy, meat of choice, and eggs of choice. So the sausage was not cooked both as a side or in the tasteless gravy. Gravy has only one season, black pepper, which is more for show then season. It tasted as if the flour wasn't rendered enough. The roux was not cooked correctly because you can still taste the flour and that is all you taste. So we had the undercooked sausage replaced with bacon, that when bitten into, let me know that it had been sitting without heat for too long. I want to think that the cooks can do better but they might need inspiration to do so. The biscuit was huge, and that was nice and it was soft. The decoration is set to be country-ish/barn-ish. They might want to redo their decor. Keep the theme, but redo the decor. Will I go back to this restaurant? No, I wouldn't. I think I...
Read moreStopped in today for breakfast to celebrate my son's 18th birthday. We chose Biscuts based on the reviews as we are new to the area. I am shocked this place has this many good reviews. Not only was the service incredibly slow, but our waitress who seemed to be a manager or PIC, barked orders at the staff the entire time we were there. She made no eye contact while taking our order and kept looking all around the restaurant. I'm surprised she got our order right. Although, I kind of wish she hadn't. Both my husband and I had the Biscut Special, which based on the name of the restaurant, we had high expectations for. Not only were the Biscuts horrible, but my husbands country potatoes were mostly still frozen and his ham steak tasted like anything but ham. I chose the sausage and was saddened to see two obviously frozen preformed patty's on my plate. They were very clearly reheated via microwave and weren't even brown. The food and atmosphere is definitely sub par. At least my son was happy with his meal, but hey, it's hard to screw up French toast. Definitely will not be returning, and if this place was voted one of the 10 best places to eat in Phoenix I'm scared to try another...
Read moreBiscuits is a sweet little family owned spot that's worth your time to visit!
The lobby is dim and covered in quilts and just kind of felt odd. Service at the beginning was a little confusing as there was no clear hosts stand or instructions on seating - but after a short moment of standing at the front a gentleman saw us and quickly sat us.
The menu is pretty comprehensive with something on there for everyone. I got a biscuit benedict and a side of biscuits and gravy. As their name implies, their biscuits were awesome! I loved the crunch of the bacon and the hollandaise sauce had great flavor.
The flavors and cook on the food were very good except for one important part - which was that our food wasn't hot. It was luke warm, which wasn't awesome because about halfway through my fish things were getting cold. I'm sure they would have taken it back to warm it up if I asked, but I was ready to dig in so I didn't. My only other gripe was that the country potatoes come to you with zero seasoning, so they were very bland.
A few minor gripes but overall a good experience worthy of continued business! I'm certain we'll be back again to try more...
