Great food!

We visited on a Monday evening when many places are closed. Arrived around 6:00 and within about 1/2 hour, all tables and booths in the dining room were full. House tortilla chips and a tasty, not hot, salsa are promptly brought to the table. My wife ordered iced tea and I couldn't pass up on Dos XX on tap. We heard and smelled steak fajitas (Monday special) pass by several times. I had the Bistek Ranchero ($15.99). Great tasting steak nuggets cooked in a mild and flavorful ranchero sauce with tomatoes, onions and green peppers served with good refried beans topped with melted cheese, a little salad, Mexican rice and I chose flour tortillas. Hot sauces are available - Chalula and house. I chose the house and it had just the right amount of heat without being overpowering. My wife had a combination plate ($13.99) with a beef taco, cheese enchilada and red tamale. This was also served with beans and rice. She really liked it all and commented on the plentiful melted cheese on the enchilada and tamale. Both portions were very large. I brought home enough for a lunch and my wife never even made it to her taco. We love flan and couldn't leave without trying it. Without a doubt, the tallest flan ($5.50) we've had. Excellent flavor custard with a not too heavy caramel sauce. Topped with whipped cream and a marachino cherry. Save room to have this tasty treat - plenty for two to share. Another diner close to us was really enjoying his chicken soup. I asked about it and he said he's tried it at many different restaurants and Los Agaves is the best. It looked and smelled great. It's on my list for...

I visitedthe restaurant 6/20/17. Got there at 11.07 am sign said open but doors locked. I called on the phone and the gal said we are open. I told her I pounded on the door. No answer. She came and unlocked the door. My friend was celebrating her 80th birthday and I wanted this to be special. Was so looking forward to a Chimi. We had already planed to go to wisdoms but now are closed fir the summer. Well i told the gal what i wanted rice, chimi shreded beef. No sauce on Chimi but on the side. Green sauce. Told me thats extra charge. Sour cream extra charge again. Our meal arrived. Had shredded cheese all over the chimi. SAUCE LOOKED SICK WITH WATERED DOWN AND CREAM IN IT. TASTED TERRIBLE RICE NO FLAVOR. MEAL WAS DISGUSTING. MEAT TASTED KINDA SOUR. GAL NEVER ASKED IF ALL WAS OK. WILL NEVER GO BACK. FOOD WAS HORRIBLE. MY BIRTHDAY YREAT FOR MY FRIEND WAS A TOTAL HORRIBLE. WAKE UP PEOPLE. OR BETTET YET HANG AN OUT OF BUSINESS SIGN...

Visited this lovely gem with 3 other people that recommended this spot and I can see why. The place was packed. Before eating we were greeted with chips and salsa on on table. If your like me you must request for hotter salsa instead of the mild they put out. They had all you can eat fish which turned out to be cod. Not an avid seafood lover but I figured I would give it a whirl. I decided fried over grilled it was lightly breaded. Complimentented with a side of fries which turned out to be wedges. They were tasty lil morsels so I did not mind at all. It also came along with tartar sauce, coleslaw and a lemon wedge. Washing it all down with a raspberry ice tea. Even though I was just about full remember this all you can eat. Ha ha ha. Enjoyed the exceptional food and hope to be back again sometime to try a different plate. Thank you for the hospitality, hope you have room next time...

The food here is both reasonable and tasty. The servers vary in quality. When we arrived our second time, we were greeted by an elderly woman who did not even bother to come down the ramp to where we were but waved us from a distance to follow her to the table. Bad knees? The decor is intimate and shady. You are brought mediocre bulk bag-type chips and a good salsa right away. Both our servers were prompt and our most recent one was very efficient. The chicken fajitas were very good, with excellent refried beans. The platter was only missing a dollop of guacamole and some cheese. We ordered guacamole on the side and it was good. Unlike most places of this type, there are many dessert options. We tried the flan which was only slightly overcooked and tasty.

Great Mexican food in the area, we all loved our food, and drinks! The staff was very nice and attentive. He even helped us figure out how to make a dish gluten free... And it was delicious! I had the shrimp enchiladas with the green sauce instead of the red sauce which has flour, so happy we caught this so I didn't get sick 😅 I have to mention the great Cadillac margaritas, great taste and big portions made us very happy. We were visiting and this is our local friend's favorite place, we can see why.
