Waited a bit on this review in order to be objective. Walked in with my companion and felt a coldness as the woman behind the counter stared at us. No warmth. It was palpable and we both brought it up as we waited for the food. I ordered a greek salad, friend just a cannoli. When the food came, it did not look like a greek salad and a menu check made clear there was a miscommunication, and that I had received a green salad. Since I do not eat parmesan I decided to take it back to the counter. I asked for a refund since I had not received what I had ordered and at that point a curly-haired woman likely wearing army boots pointed to a sign on the display case saying No Refunds. I can only imagine how it came up that that was necessary. I said I wasn't much interested in a salad any longer and she was abrupt and loud, saying Do you want a salad or not? I said I would like to not be yelled at, so she yelled it again, Do you want a salad or not. Kind of surprised by her rudeness and lack of customer service skills, I repeated that I do not want to be yelled at. So she yelled it again and I just said, fine, if you are going to keep my money then make the salad to go. No one likes paying money to be treated badly, but that's how it was. A lot of money. Their prices are really high. The food looked good, but if you want cannoli save yourself some money and head to Whole Paycheck instead. It's cheaper and at least as good. You heard right, cheaper. Horrible experience and you couldn't get me to ever give them a single penny again. So so rude. I gave my meal to a homeless man and had great avocade toast at a local...
Read moreI don't normally post reviews of places we didn't like, but our visit here was just not good. We went on the recommendation of someone. Friday morning, things were comfortably busy, but we were the first in line at the counter. In looking over the menu, the line started to grow behind us. I asked for French toast made with whole grain. In trying to figure out which kind of bread, somehow an order of "toast" was added to my order. I didn't want 3 pieces (that come in an order of French toast), just 2. Paid the regular price for 3 though, plus $2.95 for a piece of regular toast (1 piece!). My husband ordered pancakes and said they were doughy and didn't taste good. We thought about going back in to let them know, but the line was to the door. With a 20% tip, our bill was $52!!! The coffee was pretty strong and had an aftertaste. People were working hard here and it seems to be a popular place, however we found it stressful and not our...
Read moreGot the French waffle, it tasted almost plastic-y, filling tasted like can frosting, and the chocolate is so waxy it tastes like a hostess snack cake. The croissant wasn't really what I'd call flaky, the flavor was not defined at all-tasted almost like nothing. The Cherry danish had good cherry filling, decent flake on the outside edges other than that the inside pastry wasn't very good. The cannoli was... Awful. The filling tatsed like whipped oil, like a dense coolwhip. I don't think any ricotta was used at all. The shell was so soft it would tear apart not crack/flake apart. The chocolate again, tasted like oil. The flat cinnamon snail was the best thing we got and it was still disappointing. So much "butter" it coated everything that it touched .The crunchy tips were good but after you ate the outside layer it was just really sweet and disappointing. Staff was nice, building was clean, didn't...
