We were shopping in town and had to wait on an item, decided to have a late lunch, 1:30pm. I googled "restaurant near me" just to see if anything new popped up that I hadn't tried. "Drip Drop BBQ" appeared to my surprise and it was only .7 mile away. (Our 2 favorites were a couple miles away: Smokin-In-Style and Don Juan bith AAA) We walked in to a small main room area with glass showcase and cashier. She pointed to adjacent small room with six tables and brought menus as we sat down. My friend ordered the pulled pork dinner $13 and I tried the loaded fries with brisket $17. His pulled pork "dinner" consisted of 1 cup each of pork, baked beans and potato salad with a slice of toast. After he remarked there wasn't much meat, the canned baked beans and potato salad were not very tasty. My loaded brisket fries took another 5 min to show up. It was overloaded with nasty cheese and very little brisket. I took 3 bites and decided I would not put my taste buds or stomach through this. We politely asked for our bill and presented my credit card. Apparently their machine was vintage and girl hand wrote my receipt. I would normally write a more detailed feedback but decided less is best with this one. But if you want outstanding BBQ with generous portions of fresh smoked meat run to SMOKIN-IN-STYLE or The Best of Mexican DON...
Read moreThere are secret places the locals go for exceptional food. It's not about glitz and glamor nor hot and trendy, it's about good food that satisfies the taste buds. Enter Drip Drop BBQ Shop, perhaps the best untold secret in Hot Springs. There isn't much to the atmosphere, but the brisket and pulled pork will definitely make you overstuff yourself. Most brisket looses beef flavor because of over smoking or higher temps causing the meat to drain moisture. Drip Drop's brisket is cooked very very slowly allowing the meat to be cut with the grain versus against the grain. The result is brisket that actually tastes like beef, almost a beef roast meets brisket flavor. Their BBQ sauce is very pleasing and doesn't distract from the flavor of the meat. It doesn't have much heat but it has just a little bit of sweetness that makes each bite better than the last. The pulled pork was also excellent, with tons of moisture and just a wee bit of sauce to give it a smooth and mellow flavor. Although there are still more the menu I would like to try, the brisket and pulled pork are clearly winners...
Read moreNo silverware or napkins on the table or brought out. Server nevered asked if we needed anything. He just brought out what we asked for. Food was served and we waited over five minutes for a fork. Food wasn't served at the same time and my food was brought out in two stages. Bbq is good but not good enough to suffer horrible customer service. Was also over charged for the sampler platter. Didn't realize this until I checked my email after I left. This just bothers me beyond words. I expect to pay the posted price and nothing more. Before anyone says I wouldn't mind if it was the other way. Yes I would have brought it to their attention. Take out seems to be ok but I do not recommend dining in and check your receipt for accuracy...
