After hearing great things from a friend who works there, I decided to check out the restaurant with another friend of mine. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm and genuine welcome by a kind gentleman at the entrance, which immediately set a positive tone for our visit. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and you could tell that the staff truly cared about their customers.
The service was excellent throughout our meal—attentive, respectful, and friendly without ever feeling overwhelming. Our waiter made sure we were comfortable, explained the menu clearly, and offered helpful recommendations based on what we were craving.
When the food arrived, we were both impressed by the portion sizes. Each plate was absolutely loaded—far more than we expected for the very affordable prices. The flavors were rich, fresh, and clearly made with care. You could taste the quality in every bite, and it honestly felt like we were getting a home-cooked meal rather than something mass-produced.
We each ended up with more food than we could finish, which made the value even more impressive. It's rare to find a place where you can eat this well, leave full (or even with leftovers!), and not feel like you’ve spent too much. Whether you’re on a budget or just love getting the most for your money, this restaurant delivers both quality and quantity.
Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious, filling meal at a great price. The welcoming staff, generous portions, and outstanding flavor make it a spot I’ll...

This newly opened spot brings the true taste of Louisiana to Texas with a welcoming spirit and food that feels like it was made just for you. An extension of their beloved 20+ year-old restaurant in Bossier City, Louisiana, this place is all about fresh, never frozen seafood, boldly seasoned dishes, and Southern hospitality at its finest.
I walked in planning to grab takeout, but the cozy vibe and kindness of the team made me stay. Hashish, the owner, is warm, thoughtful, and clearly passionate—he made me a fresh lemonade and shared genuine conversation. His cousin at the register offered me a taste of the coleslaw (so good I immediately had to order a full side!).
I had the catfish and shrimp lunch plate with fried okra and fried pickles, and every bite was a standout. The batter was crispy, golden, and richly seasoned—bold, not bland like so many places—and finished with their house-made “crack seasoning” that adds the perfect kick. The pickles were some of the best I’ve ever had, and the coleslaw was creamy with just the right tang.
There’s a tucked-away seating area to the left when you walk in, where the ambiance, music, and warmth create the perfect space to relax and enjoy your meal away from the street-side bustle.

Read moreThe shrimp is hands down the best I’ve ever tasted hot, fresh, and full of flavor! The tenders are incredibly juicy, and the fish? That’s REAL catfish, perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. I also tried the gizzards, liver, fries, and mozzarella sticks and let me tell you, everything was delicious. Not a single miss on the menu! Captain LA isn’t just a place to eat it’s an experience. This is officially my forever spot. If you're in Texas and you haven't tried Captain LA yet, you’re missing out. Best in the state, no question! OH yah the Philly cheese steak you better not miss that one it’s sooo good trust meeeee. The owner and the girl at the register are honestly some of the best people you’ll ever meet. The owner is super chill, always ready to chat about the food or just vibe with you like you’ve known him forever. But the girl man, there’s just something different about her. She’s sweet, funny, and always makes the effort to ask about your day like it really matters to her. The way she talks, the way she carries herself... she just makes the whole place feel better. If you ever go, make sure you catch her at the front you’ll understand why she leaves...
